I should probably not be asking you for comments about my rear end but here goes LOL....I have a 2024 Mustang GT convertible Premium. I have ordered a 2026 of essentially the same options except I'm adding active exhaust. Agreed it is somewhat of a dumba$$ financial move but I considered many other options and because my 2024 was a convertible none worked. Believe me I tried with calls to Valvetronic, Corse, AWE, Steeda, custom pipe benders etc. etc. Plus I just plain WANT the active valve exhaust! So, if my dealer has enough pull and assigned a high enough priority order number I should be getting a 2026 in a few months. I have plans for some mods, the regular culprits and one that is a bit "outside the box" . Here goes. Back in the day I had a 2014 Mustang Convertible. I really liked that the entire rear end of it was painted (Oxford white). I am not so keen on the "black composite look" of my 2024 and hopefully 2026. Sooo, I went to a respected paints shop for a price to match the valence to the body color (vapor blue metallic). De-greasing, two coats primer, three coats vapor blue metallic, two coats clear coat, buffing in between. The sensors on the bumper would only get one spray of primer, color and clearcoat. Valence would be removed for the process. Lights embedded in it removed for the process. Cost $1,600.00. They did not seem to be worried at all about the process. They did state that the color might be a bit off in the bright sun but I replied so was the transition from metal to composite parts on my 2014 Mustang. If I liked the result would I get the composite parts along the rockers done? Maybe. Would I get the front grille (like my 2014) done too? Maybe. I would leave the hood vents black. Just thinking why not stand out a bit from the pack? Let the comments fly.....please. Cheers MT .... attach a couple of pics to show my idea.

Sounds like it might look pretty cool color matched and your old Mustang picture helps to visualize it. For continuity, you might consider doing the side rockers and the chin spoiler as they are all matched on the car in color and texture. Would they leave the texturing as is on the rear valance or sand it smooth before painting? The only thing is the rear valance on the S650 is pretty "chunky" compared to he S550 from what I've seen.

Let us know what you decide and please post up pics if you do it. Thanks!

@Tripower ..... very good question - thank you! They would sand and use filler to remove the texturing for another $500.00. It is something I am definitely considering and I do think doing the side rockers and chin splitter would make for much better continuity and overall look.

@Starship Enterprise .....agreed and a good point. They have a great reputation - that said, if proceeding I would ask a lot of details questions. I would rather pay a bit more than have them cut corners.

I'm all for it! I am no fan of most black trim or wheels.
