AZ_Ryan’s comments are right on. Your dealer was asleep at the wheel, which might give me concern about info from them. As indicated above, they need to inspect the BCM for any water intrusion, but MOST, ALMOST ALL, have not had this occur. My 2025 GT was inspected, no water intrusion, and they resealed some areas under the windshield cowl per instructions. Everything took about 6 hours. Done right. No issues.

So, just get it checked and the work done. Not a biggie in most cases!!!

Ford got in some hot water over backup camera recall for other cars ahwile back.

NTSB is overseeing their recall campaigns. IF they weren't under a close eye, this would be a service bulletin.

I'm fine with an inspection and getting the car back. I am hopeful of that. They are however going to test for water ingress and if it doesn't pass the test, they won't give the car back. They would then be liable if they gave the car back and fined by Ford I imagine. If the car doesn't pass the testing, I am hopeful they will fix it possibly with sealant and then I could be on my way with the car. I am worried about it and trying to be optimistic but it's difficult as you can tell, I'm sure.

Yes, that testing for water ingress is part of the recall process. They should have done all this before they delivered the car to you! Hope they make it simple for you. You will love your car.

"Passing the test" just means a visual check to the BCM for water damage. It either has it or it doesn't. If it doesn't, they seal the car up and your on you way. Its really not complicated. As mentioned very few of these have had any water damage. I wouldn't stress over it. 👍🏻

Make sure they re-seat the windshield cowling properly.

Check car for black caulk. I had it on the door, seat, side of car, etc.

If the BCM is defective, I say push them for a good deal on the Dark Horse & take the money back & get the DH. You have some leverage. I’m sure they don’t want Ford Mother Ship to know they delivered it to you before the recall was done.

Hi All-I got my car back. The BCM was good with no corrosion, and they put sealant on the areas where water could possibly seep in. The job was done neat as far as I could tell. I looked inside the passenger side all around the footwell. All the panels were secure as well. Under the hood is not visually accessible due to the large cowl covering that must have been removed to gain access. Not knowing the process in detail this is my best guess at what was done.
Picking up my car, they had a Darkhorse in the showroom. What a beast. If my car couldn't be fixed, I would have gone for it LOL, but in any case, I am happy with my Anniversary Edition and extremely happy to get it back. I'm eyeballing the first 2 things to do to her: a radar detector and ceramic coating. Both are pretty steep but may be totally worth it.
Thanks for all your comments and suggestions because they really helped. Ride on.
