Had this beautiful 2025 Mustang for 4 days when I received a call from Ford saying they need my car back. Apparently, there is a recall in which they shouldn't have sold me the car in the first place. There's a module that communicates to enable the exterior lights to be on, which is compromised by water seeping into the module. As of yet, there are no parts to fix the problem. The only thing they can do is test it for passing or failing. They can attempt to re-seal it however, if the module itself is corroded, there is nothing they can do. So, I've put 170 miles on her, and I am not only used to her, but I absolutely love her. I'm upset over the whole thing and now, can only wait for a couple of days to see if my 60th Anniversary edition, passed the test.
Has anyone else gone through this and if so, how was it handled?

Thank you. Yeah, I saw what is happening and why. Now I want to know if any of you went through this and how it turned out.

I wouldn't worry that much, most don't leak.

There has been a 'stop sell' on and off for this in different countries as well as on and off recall application. There have certainly been some cars with leaks but not sure how many. It seems they are now 'inspecting' and 'testing' rather than slapping sealant on them all but a lot of mixed messages from different countries.

Mine is showing no signs of water ingress so I am happy to continue without the 'fix' or 'bodge' depending on how you describe it. Pretty sure if it is leaking then slapping some sealant around will not be a long term fix anyway.

Thanks. Now I'm a little more optimistic on the outcome. They have a Dark Horse on the lot, but they may have the same issue.

Its just an inspection and some sealant. The only issue is if they find corrosion in the BCM, because those are on back order. To date Ive only heard of two people that have needed a BCM.

They came out with the recall in September, and the fix was issued in October I believe. Stop sales only lasted a few weeks. Someone at your dealer was asleep on the job for not taking care of the cars on the lot two months ago.

Definitely my dealership was asleep on this one. My understanding is that there is a 30,000.00 fine for a dealership selling the car like this. Essentially, I could have kept the car, and they would be in a pickle. But I could also potentially have been killed in the rain as well.

Thats a bit dramatic. Water intrusion in the BCM can effect the exterior lights But ive not heard of anyone dying lol.

So are they doing the recall and giving it back? It only takes day. Your making it sound like they canceled the sale.

The sales manager said they would refund my money so yeah, I'm counting that as a cancellation of the sale. Also, if the modular is corroded, there is not a replacement until sometime this quarter which is why I believe the sales manager gave that as a possibility. I didn't particularly like hearing that as an option. The car is amazing and I'm trying to remain optimistic. Everyone's response here on the forum has been encouraging so that helps a lot.

Why give the car back? Just do the inspection and call it a day. Unless they already KNOW it needs a BCM, its really not a big deal. Maybe im missing something???

The last thing I want to do is to return the Mustang. I only talk about cancelling the deal because I was told by the sales manager that if the module fails their testing for leakage, then returning the car would be a possibility. Do they already know it needs a module; I don't know, but they are going through the testing process which I'm told will take a little time. I'm now displaying faith that this dealership is being honest even though they sold me the car with this recall. I just think they dropped the ball regarding the sale. Reading up on this, Ford did originally close the case on this issue until it was found that this problem would occur much sooner than originally thought. Perhaps it was overlooked somehow at the dealership, but I think I'm reaching now.
I will let you know how this turns out. I am hoping that it passes the testing or, that it can be fixed. I want this beautiful machine. back.C:\Users\raspa\OneDrive\Pictures\IMG_0946.HEIC
