Hey all. Curious if anyone has this issue and if so, how you fixed it? I noticed in my S650, CarPlay sometimes doesn’t connect. I need to go and start doing hard reboots to make it work. Once I pass that hurdle, the CarPlay is very poor quality. It tends to skip and the songs break up as if I’m wireless but I’m wired. Any notice on this? I thought ford released a recall for this.

I have issues with it.

When using wireless CarPlay sometimes I get no audio. I go into my iPhone Bluetooth settings and toggle wireless CarPlay off and on. Usually doing it once works. Sometimes I need to do it twice.

When using wired CarPlay with my iPhone, I’ve noticed it will start to stutter so the audio sounds like it’s skipping.

Also, when I drive past a fire station here and have to stop near it or drive slowly past it, CarPlay starts to really act up and my audio will completely turn off. This is while using wireless. Have not tried wired.

Really odd. Wonder if a fix will come out.

I hope so. CarPlay and android auto have been out for years at this point. I know some people don’t mind and buy it for the engine noise but this is unacceptable.

I was having all these same problems but IOS 18 kind of smoothed things out, at least for the time being. Just downloaded 18.1 a couple of days ago. Hopefully it doesn’t screw it up again. At least I finally learned how to reboot it while still driving.

I was really hoping iOS 18 would help but already ran into the same issues. I have my doubts Ford will completely fix it.

Don't hold your breathe for the fix. It was first announced an update was coming in Q4 of this year, and Ford just released this a week ago now saying it will be coming in Q1 of 2025.

LOL. Some serious EMF there for sure. I was filling up my ’17 Raptor once and a fire truck pulled in behind me. I finish up, get in, press start. No joy. dash pops up “no key detected”.

Double ewe.
Tee.
Eff.

I tried cycling the ignition once and finally went to the dead key fob battery slot and she started up finally. You know those guys were like “watch this”, snickering the whole time.

If this is a thing, I wonder what do they have on their rigs that causes interruptions. And what is it at a Firehouse that would cause interruptions as well? I mean, other than their Radio receptions and Emergency communications, I don’t get it. 🤷🏽‍♂️

I agree that it’s some kind of interference. It’s a newer big fire station and has a massive tower in the back. Sadly, I have not seen anyone else have issues where the radio starts to stutter and completely shut down. We have an Acura and a F150 that never have any issues. My parents live in the same area and their cars do not have the issue either.

I sometimes have the CarPlay issue where the song is "Playing", you can see the art of the song and the seconds running but there is NO audio. No matter what you do. You have to turn off your Mustang, and start it up again.
