UPDATE !! Finally some clarification for our Aust' MY24 Mustang Release Time Frame !

I just hope FoA don't go mad on Pricing !

Dealer Allocations This Month (July)

Pricing and FULL Product Release - August

First Arrivals / On-Sale - Q1 2024

1689037955994.jpeg
Today got a call from my dealer (28/7)...
They got their Dark Horse allocation overnight of 5 vehicles
Apparently had 25 on the list with DH pre-orders

The only factory options we have to choose from: transmission, recaros, appearance pack on Blue Ember, Vapor Blue & Black and of course colour.
No handling package available for Oz.

Other info they shared:
Pricing & Product info expected last week of Aug
Scheduling for production around Oct sometime
Deliveries Q1 2024... fingers crossed (not too specific here)

Anyone else Aussie based heard from their dealers?

That’s for the heads up.

I understood that active exhaust and Brembo brakes were to be included on the Australian spec and that Magneride was to be an option. Very disappointing if those additions are not available.

My dealer is getting 7 DHs, which apparently was the average across the 185 dealerships.
That suggests there are 1200 - 1300 DHs coming, not 1,000.
(1,000 / 185 = 5.4 which cannot be right, unless a significant number of dealers are only getting 2 or 3.... along with some getting 8 or 9.)

There is likely to be a second run of DH for AU, but unknown how many more, or when.

No allocation information about the GTs (yet), yesterday was all about the DH.

I just spoke to my dealer who are of the firm belief that active exhaust, Brembo brakes and Magneride will be part of the Australian mustang spec. They did indicate that the Appearance package would negate some options (i.e. if you want Magneride you cant get the appearance package & visa versa). Now whether my dealer is any more informed than another dealer is anyone's bet. So I suppose we just wait until the end of August and then we can go from speculation to informed expectation, which will lead to anticipation or disappointment. :)

The info from my dealer is Magnaride is std for Dark Horse as it is for U.S.

There was no option for me to add it to my order.
Not sure the story for the GT though

Haven’t heard from my dealer. I ordered pretty early but have never bought a Ford so suppose I got punted down the list for their regulars.

What's the thinking on the specs we would again be getting?
I'm really hoping they don't give us the 3.55 LSD on the DH, because some pencil pusher at Ford HQ reckons it's too aggressive lol.
I want the proper 3.73 Torsen on my DH - who the hell needs to see the top of 3rd gear maxing out at 175km/h like how Mach1 in Aussie spec does, that's crazy high gearing.
Who cares?
What's all the fuss about?
You get what you get, or go aftermarket.

We're fast approaching the time to have separate threads for EcoBoost, GT and DH discussion.
This is becoming messy.

What makes you think its a pencil pusher decision?

The tall gearing helped Mustangs in the Bathurst 6 hour to dominate the class against 6.2LHSV and 6.3L Benz

Take a DH to PI, Bathurst, SMSP and you will understand the logic.

if you don't like the OEM diff ratio don’t waste your time/$ on a pussy torsen.

Go KAAZ or similar with whatever ratio you want. AND. Turn a screw and it goes from track diff to drift diff.

I'm a bloke spending the coin, so I care. Got a problem with that?
Nope, but my response was simply mirroring your own arrogance... but I guess you missed that, geez.
There's is no need for hostility here.

I don't drive with coffee cups in my cars, ever, so who cares. So much talk about the bloody cup holders, geez.
I care as much about diff ratios as you do about the centre console, so let's leave it at that.

I think you nailed it there with the Bathurst analogy, and from my own experience, the 3:55 is the ideal Ratio.

Why offer an opinion? It does sound like you care.
For the street topping out at mid 170s in 3rd is one of the reasons i wouldn't go MT82 again.

If they did 3.73 i would consider going manual absolutely.
Queensland raceway is pretty short straights anyway, you might touch 4th on the straight otherwise its 2nd and 3rd. Just too tall. I understand in the DH where people might go to larger tracks but for road use most of the time?
Anyway, i have the 10R80 on order anyway so unless i hear 3.73 for MT82 ill keep the order as is.
