Good news here too. I got the note just after 5:00. Built!
Hopefully enough built Mustangs are coming this way to get a train car moving.

Good news! That message about unexpected delays was good for nothing but unnecessary worry. :)

So should my dealer have given Ford my information when they placed my order?

I have a potential build date and order number (and order printout) but no VIN, and there's nowhere on the order printout where they could have specified my contact info.

Yes the dealer is supposed to provide Ford with your email address. The email I received from Ford saying the car was "scheduled for production" also contained the VIN. Did the dealer provide you with the "potential build date?" If that's the same thing as the "scheduled" build week, the VIN should have been available at the same time.

They did, but only by my salesman showing me an email they got about it; it says it's scheduled but no VIN is mentioned there or in their system, just the fact the order was transmitted.

I wouldn't trust that dealer. Sounds like the dealer is either doing something shady or just plain ignorant about the process. My wife got updates as the status changed, plus she got an email when the order was confirmed that had the VIN number and a link to the tracker website, so we could check the status anytime we wanted.

Yes, there's no VIN yet, that's the point, just a projected build date.

They're thinking maybe a VIN will be assigned tomorrow as Ford apparently processes orders on Thursdays, or so I've been told.

Makes no sense that the dealer did not provide your email to Ford when they submitted your order to Ford. If they had, you would have received an email within a few hours to a couple of days from Ford confirming your order. That just confirms that Ford has your order. Important that you got a copy of your order or DORA submitted so that you could ensure it will be built like you want it.

When the order is actually scheduled you would receive an email with the week that it is scheduled to be built and the VIN. If no VIN and no week of, then it is not yet scheduling. Yes, scheduling week and VIN are normally completed by Thursday or Friday. This normally happens the third or fourth week of the month and is for builds two months later. November scheduling information would have been for January builds. Scheduling info provided in December would be for February builds. Holiday shutdowns could likely impact this whole process.

When you say theee is no VIN but there is a projected build date, I would guess that is the dealer’s best guess/estimate on build as the VIN and week of build would be available if actually scheduled. The dewler’s person who actually submits the order can check the Ford order system and know the status of your build (SUBMITTED, SCHEDULED, IN PRODUCTION, BUILT, SHIPPED, DELIVERED). Sales people normally do not access.

I’ve purchased two Mustangs from Phil Long Ford of chapel Hills in Colorado Springs and they took good care of me, but I used them, the Ford Performance team, etc to track my car’s status.

Hope you actually get scheduled for February and get your week of build and VIN.

I have not received any communication from Ford, and they say they did provide my contact info to them.

My projected build date is January 7 according to the email my salesperson received and showed me on his phone; the order was actually placed in November the week before Thanksgiving.

My dealer, Sil-TerHar in Broomfield, CO, gave me a copy of my order with my order number on it.

You can email Ford Performance at
[email protected]
and ask them to check the status of your order. You need to provide them your ORDER NUMBER and DEALER NUMBER. These should be on the order printout that your dealer gave you. These guys are usually selling parts etc, but are usually very helpful.

A specific date of Jan 7 would lead me to believe that it got scheduled during the Nov scheduling. That would also mean that the VIN is assigned. Just seems like some things don’t jive. Let’s us know if things get clarified. 🤞🤞🤞

I didn't get my "scheduled for production" email with the VIN until a month after placing the order, so the dealer is probably right that you don't have a VIN yet. Your only issue appears to be Ford didn't get your email address for whatever reason (dealer could have typo'd it). As long as the dealer keeps communicating with you it should be fine.

Ordered on 7/25 …2026 vapor blue ,performance pac ,night pony ,active exhaust
Picked mine up on December 1st. I checked the oil yesterday just for the heck of it. There are two holes in the dipstick one for high level and one for low level. My oil was on the low level hole. So check your oil when you get home. Anyone getting the Performance Package check your trunk before you leave the dealership my under body air deflectors/strakers were not installed.

Mine was low, too, as were several others reported here.
