‘24 Changed to ‘25 with no B&O

Think of this as a service announcement if you recently ordered a ‘24 mustang with the GT Premium package. I got told Ford changed my ‘24 to a ‘25. Just got notified of my build date and VIN and sure enough the B&O isn’t on there.

I asked the dealer two weeks ago when I was told it was going to be a ‘25 if it was still getting the B&O and they said their computer said yes. They now have to follow up and hope it gets fixed.

So make sure to stay on top of your order if Ford changed you from a ‘24 to a ‘25.

When did you place your order? Were you scheduled for production with a VIN#?

Im surprised they gave you a VIN number for a 2024 and cancelled it! Usually when you have a VIN my understanding is Ford is committed to building it.

Sorry, I guess I wasn’t clear. The original order at the dealership was for a ‘24 with GT premium so would have included a B&O. Dealer said Ford switched order after it was submitted to a ‘25. First order update email from Ford with VIN is for the ‘25. But since ‘25 GT Premium package eliminated the B&O the car description shows the base 9 speaker stereo. Dealer said Ford should have still included the B&O, though at an additional cost now.

Ohh I see…they should honor the sound system I’d imagine considering you wanted the 2024! My exact spec for the 2025 model year is almost 4K more! I’d say ask the dealer if they’ll honor your same options and pricing as the 2024 - worth a shot.

To be honest I don't know how you could have put an order on 4 September. The order banks for the 2024 Mustang closed on 19 August.

You aren't missing anything, honestly cant imagine the 9 speaker system sounding worse than the B&O.
Would have loved the option on my 24 with 401A and opt out of the B&O. It is NOT worth $1K

I priced it out and yep, it is a solid $4K hit going to a '25. Buyer's Order sheet is written up for a '24, but the dealer said it may get turned into a '25. Maybe the dealer knew all along it would be a '25 and just said what they had to to get me to sign. We will see if they take care of me when it arrives. Unless I want to get a '24 off the lot I guess. Always an option.

Do a nationwide search for a 24 and see if there’s one that matches your spec. You’ll likely get more of a discount off the car and you can get enclosed transport for about half of the $4,000 price difference between the 24 and 25 MSRP.

EDIT: After posting I realized that the last time I used enclosed shipping was in 2018, so the prices have likely increased since then. Hopefully someone else can chime in with more accurate current shipping costs.

Also if they can’t fix it, have them order again. That will only put you what, 2 weeks behind? Well worth it to get what you want

If the B&O system is the same in the 25 as the 24, i would be pissed if I spent $1000 on it.

Happy ending, we caught it in time and the dealer was able to make the change. It now shows up online with having the B&O.

Yes Ford is ripping me off by charging more for the same product. But let's be honest, I'll complain and haggle as much as I can over the price, but in the end I'm going to talk myself into getting it, I just am.
