On the way home after my first track day, I wondered why my left knee was so sore. I didn't even realize I was using it to brace myself while making the mostly right turns at The FIRM. LOL
I initially planned to purchase an M3 before going with my Mustang as I love the way they look, despite all the hate among reviewers for the massive “nostrils”. I just could not bring myself to pay the $110,000 for the way I wanted it configured. I then thought about the M2, but I don’t like the...
Thanks for the suggestion. I’ve seen those, but I haven’t seen anything like that for the S650. Plus, there is possibly a lot more that would have to be done because not having the factory seats also means disconnecting the sensors for the seatbelt as well as the seat position and occupancy...
You are correct. I have not done anything to defeat the airbags, and I do get the airbag warning light since I have none of the seat sensors or seat airbags installed.
Welcome! I spent three years in Stuttgart as a teenager in the early 90's, and loved it. I remember riding my bike to the BMW showroom and wishing I had the 850i on display.
The car has been great on the track, although I am still a novice when it comes to track driving. It is an A10, not 6 speed. I did have to add a differential cooler as the axle overheated the first couple track days without it. I have Steeda MagneRide Progressive Sport springs, adjustable...
So I finally did my first oil change not at the dealer on my S650 while I had it on the lift to install the roll cage and change the brake fluid. I’m not sure if I’ll change it every time from now on, but if the car is already on the lift, it seems it is more convenient than taking it to the...
The extinguisher is not halon but some other type of clean agent rated ABC and K. I like it because it is compact and doesn’t expire.
The harnesses are Schroth’s Quick Fit Pro, which are designed to connect to the factory seat belt points and allow quick installation and removal. They are only...
The bar is NHRA legal.
I plan on leaving the back of the car like it is for now. Watson Racing has a rear seat delete kit designed to go with their bar, but for track use I just don’t see a need. I’ll be tracking the car from May through November, which is when my work schedule allows. After...
After much contemplating what route to go with the setup of my car interior, I settled on the following for the track.
1. Watson Racing 4 Point Cage
2. Cobra Nogaro Circuit Seats with PCI slider mounts
3. Schroth Quick Fit Pro harness with sub straps (6 point)
4. NecksGen Rev2 Carbon HNR

I’m running G-Loc pads on mine. They seem to be one of the more recommended brands on the trackmustangs forum. I’m no expert, it they work well for me. I’m currently running R10/R8, but I’m going to R16/R12 when the current pads are gone, which will probably be at my next track weekend.
I don’t think the cruise control not working is related to Forscan. The last time I made a change in Forscan was when I installed my track tires last weekend. I drove 120 miles after that and used cruise control. The only thing I did this weekend was replace the seats.
To clarify, the message...
