It was ABS module update ABS-24.12.0. It took 3 minutes to install. SO far, the only updates that have been sent to you guys that require the vehicle to be inhibited have been ABS updates..
I believe he is referring to the attached SSM where Ford says Sync 4 is less than perfect across all Sync 4 vehicles and a future update will improve it.
The attached SSM was sent to all dealers on 5/29. Basically, Ford is aware that Sync has issues even if you are on the latest update. A new APIM update is supposedly coming in Q4 for all vehicles that address the issues.
The ECG is the GWM, so an update to that module would not change the way it drives.

Modem still shows as unauthorized. Not totally surprised, as you still need an activation signal sent. I spoke to my contact who cannot help in your case as he can only send the activation signal to vehicles in the US and not abroad. In your case, I would recommend you contact Ford Customer Care...
Send me your VIN again. In the message you sent me before, the VIN is wrong. It is not showing as a valid VIN in Ford's system. The VIN of the Ranger you sent me works, but not the one for your car.
The only update that would change the way a vehicle drives is a PCM update. Every new gen Mustang I have checked for pending updates shows a PCM update pending, but nobody has gotten it sent OTA yet that I know of. The only person I know that has the new PCM software is @roadpilot since he...
Ok, so I assume you have never used FORScan before? I would start by reading Livnitup's tutorial here. In your case, it is one simple change to one location in one module that you would have to right to see if this experiment will work...
