  5. Tint - I messed up, and my car was keyed

I am sorry you are going through all of this. At the very LEAST, get a locking car cover to possibly protect it from the SCUM that did this.
  6. GT first impressions (very first)

I do not have any traction problems at all. I drive in Standard or Sport mode in my 6 speed car. I have come from a 392 Scat Pack automatic with 470 ft. lbs. of torque right off the bottom of the tach. My GT feels like a 2 stroke dirt bike in comparison to that car. Nobody home under 4K rpm. It...
  7. Coyote Engine Advice

I usually run at 1600 to 2000RPM to keep a light load on the motor. I do not use 6th unless running at 65 mph or more on FLAT ground.
  8. Clutch Protection - Do our GT's have it?

Sorry. I am not going to do redline shifts from 1st to 2nd ever again. Does it every time. Probably on 3 different occasions. Only 3500 miles on the garage queen. Too risky - Love my car to much to potentially hurt it. If you have not heard it in yours you are doing it right. It is LOUD and...
  9. Clutch Protection - Do our GT's have it?

No, it is a groan or honk sound. Even my wife says -What is THAT?- Driving manuals and motorcycles for 61 years.
  10. Clutch Protection - Do our GT's have it?

I have learned a valuable lesson. No more occasional 1 to 2 redline shifts. Just 2 to 3, which is smooth, especially when in DRAG mode. Don't know how, but it just is. I am not a hard driver, just usually once during each drive I will run it up in a single 2 to 3 shift from now on. Never a...
  11. Clutch Protection - Do our GT's have it?

You are THE MAN! Thank you so very much for this info. I suppose that the Clutch Protection may be disabled when in the DRAG setting. Is that correct?
  12. Clutch Protection - Do our GT's have it?

Engaging the clutch by releasing the pedal.
  13. Clutch Protection - Do our GT's have it?

Thanks. I did not feel that I was releasing it too slowly. I saw a video that stated that when the car is in DRAG mode high RPM shifts are much, much better. I took the car out (got oil up to 212) in DRAG and did a textbook 7500 RPM shift from 2nd to third. No drama-no noise. Not gonna try it...
  14. Clutch Protection?

I have seen the term here and there bit do not know if it is for real. I noticed that if I do a rolling start and run it up to 7k or so, that sometimes when I shift to 2nd if I try to be easy on the clutch release I will hear a noise. This only happens if I am releasing the pedal slightly too...

  16. Oil weight in warmer climates

I went back and saw that you have a DH. I would love to know what temps you hit on the track!
  17. Oil weight in warmer climates

The performance pack or DH come with the extra oil cooler that from what I read bring the temp waaaay down in daily driving. Mine runs 225 approx. when taking it easy. I have seen some folks with the extra cooler run around 190. Pretty big difference, for sure. If you run your car on a track...
