  1. Oil weight in warmer climates

It is 100 here in Central Texas today. I can gently drive my 24 6 speed around with A/C off and get oil up to 212 after perhaps 5 miles of country driving. One pull in second gear and it hits 240. To cool it off I turn on the A/C and drive gently and after approx. 3 miles it gets down to 212. I...
  2. Oil weight in warmer climates

My 2016 392 Hemi Challenger used either 0w40 or 5w40 as did my 2021 Porsche 911 Base 3.0 (Twin Turbo) Might be a good compromise between 30 and 50 ?
  3. First oil change after break in

Additive is not necessary. Be SURE they use FULL Synthetic only!
  4. Dark Horse Servicing

Buy a few wrenches and do this kind of stuff CHEAP. Lube can be found FAR CHEAPER online. Yes it is a nasty job but unless money is no object, do it yourself and do it right. Years ago I took in a Dodge Hemi for a trans change. When I left after the job it was FOUR quarts low....
  5. Anyone else still doing a strict 1,000-mile break-in period? Or am I in the minority?

OK Used AI and found out that Valet Mode is basically useless. Does not restrict performance at all. Just protects settings and some other BS.
  6. Anyone else still doing a strict 1,000-mile break-in period? Or am I in the minority?

I did not know that our cars have a Valet Mode! Great to know, for sure. If mine ever has to go in for anything Valet Mode will be ON.
  7. Anyone else still doing a strict 1,000-mile break-in period? Or am I in the minority?

I would be PISSED off. Mine is a manual and I cannot imagine what those idiots would do to my clutch and transmission. These cars should have some sort of Valet Parking low power option to protect the car from Neanderthal "Techs"......................

  10. Put on the Air Design Rear Decklid Spoiler

Where did you get it and what was the price. Looks Great! I have a Grabber Blue GT Coupe
  11. How hard should I drive brand new Mustang GT over first 1,000 miles?

Thanks. Sad story. The 911 was fantastic. Problem with getting old is in many cases you can buy whatever you want but are too damn old to drive it!
  12. Cragar SS’s for 7g Mustang

I have been looking around for a set like this that has black spokes and polished outer edges on the rim near the tire. but no luck for 7 GEN. I dig this retro look way more than the busy rims that are mostly available.
  13. How hard should I drive brand new Mustang GT over first 1,000 miles?

My 2021 Porsche Carrera had a mandatory 4K RPM limit. If exceeded computer kept a record and this could invalidate the warranty. New motor is $40K. You can bet I never went past 4K! Over 110 MPH at 4k. Was not too hard to do. Sold car due to being 6'4" with a knee implant. Just too small and...
