  1. S650 Autostart start n stop how to disable this system for good

The thing that puzzles me .... The fact that the switch is "blacked" out would seem to indicate that whoever supplies Ford with that switch and / or assembly, would have to have been notified by Ford to make that change. (an engineering change notice). Ford would have rejected a misprinted...
  2. S650 Autostart start n stop how to disable this system for good

I'm just asking out of curisoty ... Does the car actually have ASS? Will it keep running if you auto / remote start? Does it actually shut off after stopping - in drive - foot on brake? Reason I ask, some rumors that Ford was going to disconnect ASS on some models....
  3. S650 Autostart start n stop how to disable this system for good

Does you car not have the ASS button - first buitton just to the right of the start/stop switch? This is a picture of my 2026 Ecoboost .........
  4. GT Convertible Order Questions

Yep, I get it. Ford gets it too! These are mass produced, assembly line vehicles. 200+ cars a day roll off the Flat rock production line, some are the "real deal" - with the sound, power and GT badge, the rest are just "other" Mustangs. One after another. Same sheet metal, mfg processes...
  5. GT Convertible Order Questions

Oh ... so a twin turbo Ecoboost would make the Mustang more competitive, but, it still wouldn't be the "real deal" so why bother? Well .... I appreciate being enlightend today, and don't worry, my street racing days are long past LOL
  6. GT Convertible Order Questions

So ... What is the "real deal" more cylinders or more HP ?? LOL LOL Ps Not everyone needs, cares or wants the "real deal" - Hell, I didn't even know what the "real deal" was until your post - all I wanted was a decent, reliable, American made convertible ....... But now that I know...
  7. Possible to upgrade steering wheel to get paddle shifters on Ecoboost Premium?

FWIW - I just swapped my Ecoboost premium steering wheel for the DH wheel with paddle shifters. It is definitely plug and play and works as expected. My car came with a heated wheel and adaptive cruise, so the swap was straight forward - instructions were supplied with the steering wheel...
  8. GT Convertible Order Questions

We went through the same exercise beginning in early May this year. We decided that we wanted a convertible for "road" trips, beginning spring of 2026. We are retired (no dog) and enjoy traveling the "back roads" of America. So we visited a number of Mustang club shows this summer and talked...
  9. Extensive Photos 24 GT Coolant Level Fluctuating?

This is just an opinion .... I think you are over thinking this. There is a reason that the overflow bottle has "min" and "max" lines - because the "volume" of the coolant does FLUCTUATE. As long as its visible, its not leaking, it is sufficient for the engines cooling needs. As for why ...
  10. DIY: First Oil Change w/ Ramps

I have used a set of drive on ramps for decades, with no complaints or concerns. When I got ready for my first oil change on the Mustang, I drove up on the ramps, put down my floor pad, drain pan, grabbed my tools, and hit the floor. It only took me about 30 seconds to realize that: removing...

Below is the factory, auto shift lever bezel - carbon fiber "wrap" Using Forscan, I changed my gear indicator from "L" to "M" on the instrument cluster. Wrapping the bezel was the easiest way to hide the bezel indcators, about 8 bucks
  12. Winter storage

No offense, but how do "YOU" know that's who Ford wrote that for? Does that mean to you, that "IF" you properly store a car, you can ignore Fords recommendations? (just curious)
  13. Winter storage

Do whatever you like. You will never get a consensus "opinion" here..... We got 4" of snow last week, today, the snow has melted, the roads are clear and dry, I plan to uncover my car and go for a drive. Snow is forcasted for tomorrow. This will be my routine until spring.
  14. Mr Jim Farley - Hear Me Out...

Don't forget that the "base" 2026 Ecoboost Mustang has a MSRP of only $34,315 incl destination (lower w/ discounts). Any "affordable" competitive model "sport car" intoduction, potentially cannibalizes Mustangs sales. @AlanApplegate is likely accurate in his observation about Farley.
  15. Missing 2026 content

It's not that it's "fine" with me .... It wasn't "anything". For the 2026 model year, Ford wanted, $ xx.xx amount for this and that, I wasn't buying a 2024 or 2025, or a BMW or a Chev. or whatever. What they offered for sale, I was prepared to buy for some price. I added a door opener and...
  16. Missing 2026 content

Hmmm ...To me, a deletion is a "change", and, WHO isn't charging more for less..... We can beat up Ford, but, what is "basic" to you, might be something others wouldn't spec or buy if given a choice ..... Hell, I don't know, but, it's not likely that they will sell fewer Mustangs because door...
  17. Missing 2026 content

Regular production options have been changing on cars (All makes) for decades! I can remember the same kind ofcomplaints coming from car owners when cassette / CD players were slowly de-contented on vehicles over the past decade. Unless you only buy a car every 5 or 6 years or so you see it...
  18. Using Forscan and being intimidated by it

In the seven years I've used Forscan, I am not aware of a "bricked" vehicle. Every change I've ever made has already been done by someone else and they have posted their result (or expected result). The basis of the changes come from spread sheets created by Ford enthusiasts who are much more...
  19. Using Forscan and being intimidated by it

FWIW - been using Forscan since 2018 on my Ford trucks. Yes, make back up copies of everything! I print out a copy of the changes I want to make (copy and paste instructions from various sources) and the "as built" data with the data to be written. I make the changes on the as built...
  20. Missing 2026 content

Yep they de-contented some options on the 2026 ... I knew that before I bought mine, and it made no difference .... my garage door opener works better than Homelink ever did on my F-250. Much better range. 10 bucks Lot so of posts here about how crappy the built in phone charger was .... I...
