If you put similar tires and similar stiffness suspension on the two cars, they are very similar. Camaro 1LE was faster until Ford put good tires on the Mustang. The original GT350 (non R) had 300 tw tires whereas the 1LE always had 200 tread wear tires.
I agree that the base Mustang doesn't...
Ok I do like the larger cross section steering wheel. And I like the quicker turning. That definitely makes a car feel more sporty.
But electronic brake boost is scary to me. Keep your electronics away from my brakes. I'll bet they saved money with this change. Who knows, maybe it gives a...
The perforated leather on the steering wheel certainly looks like it might be an improvement. I liked the perforated leather on my FiST steering wheel a lot better than the "leather" on my GT or the alcantera on the GT350.
Agree that they are not the same thing, but the market of sports car buyers includes some people that may buy either.
GM did decide to exclude all the manual transmission sports car buyers. This was only about 20 percent of Corvette buyers IIRC, but I think it's about 50 percent of Mustang...
I think the same people are interested in both cars. I personally am no longer interested in buying a new 'vette due to the lack of a manual trans, but I think there are a lot of Mustang buyers who purchase automatics or DCT equipped Mustangs. Many of those people are still interested in...
Corvettes are all aluminum bodies, two seaters and mid engine for 60k. Mustang is steel body 4 seater front engine with a poor weight balance. If you aren't a manual transmission person or really tall, the reasons to choose a 60K Mustang over the Corvette are few. But I'm guessing the...
I work at a smaller company with less than 100 people. So everyone there knows I'm a Mustang guy. Everyone who has talked to me about the Mach E felt like the Mustang name was a negative. They didn't like that Ford named a 4 door SUV Mustang.
I feel that the name definitely created a ton...
Thanks for posting. Good conversation piece. I disagree vehemently with Dyer's posit that the Mach E is fun like a Mustang is fun. I mean come on, it doesn't have a shifter. It has 4 doors. It's powered by batteries. It's expensive.
The Mach E is fun like a 1969 390 powered Ford station...
I bet these tires will make great magazine numbers. I wouldn't be surprised if some people wear them out in 3,000 miles or less.
I really liked the 300 tread wear tires that came on my 2016 GT350. Pilot Super Sports. They lasted about 12,000 to 20,000 depending on front/rear with mixed light...
I love mine. The gray color is meh and I would have chosen different options, but the car is great in my opinion. It's the closest I've owned to a replacement of my old 944.
I wouldn't even consider paying the estimates I'm seeing in this thread. I would feel like a total sucker.
I'll wait for the coming crash and see what happens to used car prices after that.
I could care less, but not much less. I have never purchased a Mustang (or any other car) because I liked the interior. I hope I never get to that point in my life where the interior is that important to me. If I do, I'll probably end up in a BMW or Porsche or something.
Interior changes I...
My current Mustang GT doesn't have a temperature set point or auto climate control, but I did use that in the GT350. I would change fan speed and go to defrost or heat certain times of the year. I still prefer physical controls I can find in the dark or without looking. And they should be...
