I don't see the issue with this. Tedious yes, unnecessarily complicated no. For as many people that know how to work on their own car there are ten times as many that do not. This acts as a failsafe and as a way to protect against someone screwing up their own car and getting Ford to cover it...

These are definitely prototypes. Dead giveaway is that Ecoboost with black bumpers. They're probably headed back to Michigan.

There are no white stripes, that's the opacity fade option. I'm not sure there's an image of that combination out there yet. Personally I haven't seen any prototypes driving around with that combination either.

I think that's the Shadow Black/Race Red combination. Available for both trims on the EB and GT.
