I've owned 8. And currently have the 2 below, a '24 GT and '66. '08 GT premium vert '66 "Red" '24 GT premium '23 M1 2015 GT premium "Ruby" '66 '65 and '67 mustangs. My first car was the '67 on the right.

The HP difference is an interesting question for sure. I seem to remember seeing some factory dyno numbers using different octains on either the gen 2 or gen 3 a few years back. Obviously the gen 4 has a bit higher compression, but im sure it's comparable. I'll see if I can find it...

The gen 4 is 12:1 not 13:1. Also the Coyote has adaptive timing and is perfectly safe to run on 87 or 89 octane. Now, why you would want to in order to save gas money on a 50k car is a whole other conversation. But he's not going to ruin his engine. Lol

It's funny, because the other day around noon I was driving around and noticed a glare on my windshield. I realized I didnt have my sunglasses on and immediately thought of this thread lol. Glad you got it sorted. 👍🏻
