  1. Refueling is difficult

JFC: Some of these rude replies... WTF?!? This is a common fueling problem with the Mustang for literally decades. My 06 would click off while fueling if the nozzle pressure is too high. every station is different, and pressure can differ at every pump. Holding the nozzle upside down works...
  2. Horsepower wars and "how much is too much"?

To me, too much power is when the car can't handle it reliably and safely. If the car is uncontrollable under acceleration...etc. EX: The Miata is loved not because it's a powerhouse, but because the power is a great match to the car. For the Mustang, I'm enjoying my 486hp!
  3. My Adventures in Upgrading the Subwoofer and Center Speaker

All I can say I I spent time in the car today and could not get over the fact I was hearing music BEHIND me FOR THE FIRST TIME! The sound is so much fuller now!
  4. My Adventures in Upgrading the Subwoofer and Center Speaker

71Stang99: Wow...my memory is dog crap anymore. I went back to page 1 of this thread and found those are the exact adapters I bought, so yes, they will 100% work. Last year I stripped the spade connectors to fit inside the Pioneer spring connectors. But for this Hifonics sub it would be...
  5. chasing my tail and it's driving me nuts

I'd suggest the GT Premium with the 401A package like Ryan said. Also get 3.55 gears, I like my 20" wheels....firmer ride. Then have fun with aftermarket. I added strut tower brace, rear blackout panel, front splitter rear and side louvers. You can go a lot farther of course, but I had the...
  6. It's about the little things. Show us your custom accessories.

I bought real cool 3d chrome Starship Enterprise logos that are perfect badges to add to the car. A year later they are still sitting on the shelf, because I just can't get myself to add them to the car. I guess I consider it "cheesy"....lol. if hesitant maybe consider putting your emblems...
  7. My Adventures in Upgrading the Subwoofer and Center Speaker

Good question. I didn't attempt it since I already had the 4 bar grill. First thought is maybe not, but can't say for sure. Can't even remember how the OEM cover attached. Did it clip on or screw on? Worse comes to worse, the 4 bar grill is only like 12 bucks and attaches with 4 screws. I...

Dunno...I don't think about it. Rarely drive after dark, for most reason I do all I needed to do in the day. Now that you mention it, it is lame that there is no backlight on the shift bezel.
  9. My Adventures in Upgrading the Subwoofer and Center Speaker

I'm not even close to being a expert on sound specs, but I'm going to say anyway, that it seems to me that higher wattage speaker has a lower sensitivity by default. That said I originally thought a 74 db speaker has a higher sensitivity than an 86 db speaker, but it seems the opposite is true...

Not criticizing your mods....just saying I'd screw it up when selecting a gear.
  11. My Adventures in Upgrading the Subwoofer and Center Speaker

System; Agreed! But I didn't want to dive any deeper than I did. Fruitstang: Agreed! trying to fill that 1300W Pioneer was like throwing a pebble in the ocean and expecting a big wave. 71Stang99: Link to the grill is on page 1 of this thread along with all other purchase links.. The 4...
  12. My Adventures in Upgrading the Subwoofer and Center Speaker

I don't think you can go wrong with either. But for $49 the Hifonics is a great deal and outperforms the Pioneer by a mile. Not that the Pioneer is a bad subwoofer, but it took a while for me to realize how poorly it is matched to the stock system.
  13. What did you do to your S650 Mustang today?? 🙋🏻‍♂️

Today I took out my upgraded Pioneer sub and replaced it with a Hifonics sub which is a much better match for the stock B&O system. The difference was extremely dramatic and highly recommend this sub. It's worth the $49. Swap took 15 minutes. Just get blade connectors or solder. Sub is 200W...
  14. Refueling is difficult

These cars have something like a twin saddle tank. if you pump too fast, back pressure prevents the gas from getting to the other side. Then the pump clicks off thinking the tank is full. If you pump the gas at a slower setting you'll be OK. Every pump can be different, and weather temp is a...

lol...I'd hate to have to guess what gear I selected. :frown:
  16. My Adventures in Upgrading the Subwoofer and Center Speaker

lol...I really regret jumping on the Pioneer sub bandwagon that rode around here. So many people recommended it. It took a while to realize how little power is allocated to the sub and how weak it can sound if underpowered. Seriously...pumping 100W into a 1300W sub is ridiculous. No wonder...
  17. My Adventures in Upgrading the Subwoofer and Center Speaker

OK, I installed the new sub today. Took 15 minutes. The sub has twin sets of 4 ohm spade connectors. It mounts using 8 screws vs. the 6 Pioneer screws. I just drilled 8 new holes in the box and found 2 more screws. Size-wise it's a perfect drop-in. So I played SXM and music off my Samsung...

Installation is super easy. Most important thing is to make sure the lockout collar is secured with no downward pressure which defeats the lockout feature.

FWIW: I installed my Billetworkz knob NOT to look like a stick, but for the push-down lockout collar mechanism you use your knuckles to do. I hated the thumb press on top of the stock shifter. I kept dumb-thumbing it into manual and not realizing it until I was screaming at 7000RPM in 1st...
  20. My Adventures in Upgrading the Subwoofer and Center Speaker

Some great info! It all goes along with my theory. The sub I am about to put in is only 200W RMS and also 86 db sensitivity. It's sitting here waiting to go, but waiting for my bad back to feel better enough to do it. It's the Hifonics HFX10D4 I got the Pioneer at first based on so many...
