I think his name is ThePill or something similar, but he's claimed the s650 will get all the lightweighting that the s550 engineers wanted to use for the s550, but couldn't fit within the s650's budget. If true, I wouldn't expect the mustang to become a car in the low 3000s, but maybe if they...
It looks like on Kemal's sketches, the headlights are more aggressively framed than what the production s550 has. Almost like the headlights are recessed a little bit. The s650 kinda looks like it has this feature. Even under the camo, the lines surrounding the headlights look more prominent.
Yeah, if they do put huge touch screens in the interior, I hope they make them more horizontal and less vertical. Maybe offer multiple screens, but incorporate their shape into the double brow dash.
To be fair, an entry level gt is like 37 grand with the v6 starts at over 50k, the cheapest supra is pretty slow, and still costs 6 grand more than a gt. Seems like Toyota needs to step up their game if anything, either lower the price of the supra, or increase it's performance.
If we do get a AWD mustang, I'd assume it would be sold alongside the rwd version. I could see the AWD mustang have a "drift mode" when most of the power goes to the back wheels.
Yeah, my guess is we'll see an awd hybrid option at some point in the future. Where we live, the winters are kinda average (Utah) so AWD isn't really necessary to get by. But I can see why the lack of AWD would be a deal breaker if you lived in an area with rougher winters. Regarding durablity...
It really is an insane market right now, we're going to buy a Maverick hybrid, because the value that vehicle offers is insane. But I've seen used ones going for like 50k plus. Our '09 Kia Rio beater is a shitbox, like a textbook shitbox, and we could probably sell it for 4-5 grand in this...
Looks genuine, but I have to admit, I just skimmed though the article. There might be a gotcha sentence or two in there that I didn't see. It is odd to see an executive being so forthcoming with info, but not terrible unexpected as we near the reveal of the s650. I'd expect ford employees to...
That would make sense, I'm just not sure if Ford would be testing something like a next gen Cobra jet this early on though. Would be pretty cool if that was the case. My money is on this being a hybrid mule, but time will tell.
The price will be higher for sure, because that's happening for every car, but I'd expect the base model Ecoboost to still come in at around 30 grand or less. Maybe high 30s low 40s for a gt before options which is fair considering the performance you get for the money.
Based on what what a few insiders have said, the s650 is kinda like the sculpture, but not exactly. Like the s650 apparently doesn't have that massive one piece grille that takes up the entire front end. But the roofline and other elements are apparently quite similar. I believe it was amk91 who...
I mean, based on what we've heard, the s650 will be a bigger jump in design and tech than say, the transition from the '09-'10 mustangs. So it should be different enough. The s550 is so gorgeous, and has been so successful, so I can see why Ford wouldn't want to stray too far away from that...
Agreed, there's virtually no infrastructure to support hydrogen cars, and they're too expensive. Both problems evs faced 5-7 years ago that have since been resolved. But I don't see these issues being fixed with hydrogen vehicles.
Yeah, I've said it before, but my guess is we'll get something at the new york auto show considering how close the s650 is to being released, a year is nothing in the car world, and the fact that the mustang has historical ties to that auto show. As you mentioned, I highly doubt that's where...
