So this particular vid is about 3 hours old. The blue GTD Evo, that's just what I'm calling it, is the first car in the vid, and then you see a black version later on in the vid as well. So they're running multiple of these upgraded prototypes at the 'ring right now.
Yesterday, not by Ford, just by an independent channel that films vids of cars testing on the 'ring. It has the same areo disk wheels and front canards as earlier prototypes we saw for the faster GTD, but looked far more polished. It didn't have like the prototype tape all over it, looked closer...
With the upgraded version of the GTD spied yesterday running around the 'ring in production ready form, I'm kinda hoping that means Ford's gonna reveal that soon, hopefully with a better lap time.
Sorry, just to clarify, I'm referring to the Lincoln prototypes that were spied about a week ago because Ford owns Lincoln, and they often start testing their Ford/Lincoln prototypes around the same time.
It's not a case of me seeing a prototype mustang, it's just me seeing Ford/Lincoln mules...
Has Ford said they'll reveal the next mustang for the 125th anniversary? No, that's just a fun idea I have, because we know unless something changes, that's pretty close to when Ford's launching the next gen mustang anyways. So it would just be really neat for Ford's 125th for them to do a bunch...
There's a balance. For a while, Ford released a new mustang design every 5 years or so. We don't need a new design that often, but I also don't want to see Ford going 10 years with s650.
I believe the next gen is scheduled to release in 2028/2029 as a 2030 model year. It's my personal hope they reveal it for Ford's 125th anniversary in 2028.
My guess is the next platform will be a hybrid V8, a nice improvement over what we currently have. More performance, while still retaining the visceral feel, but doing more to hedge against strict emissions laws.
I don't see mustang staying pure ICE or going full ev as both of those seem like...
To be fair, that's by design. It would still be something with a 4 or 5 ft bed in theory, but using a sail pillar to sell the coupe look even more. Kinda like what the cyber truck does, but in a way that's actually attractive.

That sounds pretty promising. Just for fun, I sketched up and did some AI renderings of what I would want something like a next gen ranchero to look like. The thing with utes I wanted to improve on was the fact that most of them...
I feel like Ford either needs to bring the prices back down, or elevate the mustang to be worthy of the prices they're commanding. Because while I love a lot of things about the s650, what Ford is doing isn't giving me the fizz. The s650 is a solid car, but it looks and drives like an s550 that...
Yeah, I don't know how much the learnings of the affordable EV platform will carry over to gas platforms, but according to insiders, if it's successful, Ford will try to implement at least some of what it's learned from that towards gas programs.
It sounds like these new methods have reduced...
