  1. Why is This Car so Heavy?

I see where you're coming from. It's hard to know if cd6 started out as a crossover platform, or if it started as a rwd modern unibody platform that just happens to have a crossover on it. That makes a lot of difference. The plan for cd6 was originally to have things like a rwd Ford and Lincoln...
  2. Why is This Car so Heavy?

Agreed. I believe the best solution instead of trying to shed a ton of weight by using expensive materials like carbon fiber, is to just improve weight distribution. I've said before I'd like for mustang to become front-mid to improve handling, like what the c7 offers. Considering the fact...
  3. Why is This Car so Heavy?

But aren't a lot of enthusiasts mad about the mustang moving more upmarket? They want it to become more affordable again. You can't have a new platform, a niche product, and a low price unless that product is shared with other models to get volume on your side.
  4. Why is This Car so Heavy?

To be fair, I looked it up, a cd6 explorer on the low end weighs about 4,300 lbs, not much more than a GTD lol. Keep in mind that's a 7 seater crossover that's like a ft and a half taller than a mustang. Remove half the seats, and a ft and a half of height, and you'd probably be left with...
  5. Why is This Car so Heavy?

    Easily a 500 lb addition.
  6. Genesis beat Ford to it…

Because we're on the topic of off-road supercars, I think Hameedi Venturo has the coolest take on the idea. I believe this company is partnered with Ford on this program, because they've said they're partnered with a massive legacy auto brand, and one of the founders was a Ford engineer on...
  7. Genesis beat Ford to it…

Fair enough 😆. It's good looking in the same way a mad max falcon interceptor is good looking. Maybe less beautiful, and more badass.
  8. Genesis beat Ford to it…

Its real, they accepted orders for it at the show.
  9. Genesis beat Ford to it…

This is going into "production" they said at the reveal they've already accepted orders from some of the people in attendance. It'll be a limited production, hyper expensive thing, but you'll be able to buy it.
  10. Genesis beat Ford to it…

It makes more sense than you think. Having a good looking coupe with fun driving dynamics that can handle being driven in the winter and over speed bumps, and that has a higher ride height so it's easier to get in and out of than a normal sports car.
  11. Update: 2026 Mustang GT350/TA Revealed [Shelby American teases new sports car TODAY at 1:45PM MT]

I view Multimatic as the modern version of what Shelby was in the 60s. A company that played a pivot role in Ford's performance and race car programs that was on the cutting edge of innovation for their time.
  12. Update: 2026 Mustang GT350/TA Revealed [Shelby American teases new sports car TODAY at 1:45PM MT]

Exactly, yet another reason why Ford ditching the Shelby branding is no big deal imo. All the best Shelby models were never Shelby to begin with. Things like the gt 500 or 350 had nothing to do with shelby beyond the branding.
  13. Update: 2026 Mustang GT350/TA Revealed [Shelby American teases new sports car TODAY at 1:45PM MT]

Yep. This is why I've said Ford's smart for ditching Shelby for Multimatic. Your options are a company that does the most basic half-assed shit, or the world leaders for the most innovative and badass performance cars. Ford made the right call.
  14. Dark Horse SC and GTD at Barrett Jackson Auction

There's also a maisto GTD you can pick up for about $20 at sams club or Costco. The red on it looks insane.
  15. Official Adriatic Blue Metallic Mustang S650 Thread

Apologies for the awkward auto show pics, can't do much about all the people walking around, but HOLY SHIT. Like pics and vids don't do this color justice, I was swearing under my breath walking around it because I couldn't believe how beautiful the color was. We need to stress to Ford that...
  16. For people mad that Ford is ditching Shelby, hear me out

But that's the thing, the last Shelby cars weren't Shelby cars at all. The last "true" Shelby was probably the 2013 gt 500. I'm not saying the Shelby name doesn't matter at all, I'm just saying there's a better way. I'm glad Ford is partnering with the company that builds the Valkyrie, and not...
  17. For people mad that Ford is ditching Shelby, hear me out

I'm not wrong. I've given the Disney example. Many people would still call Disney an iconic company, but most would agree their reputation in recent decades has fallen off what it used to be.
  18. Another mustang variant is getting revealed tonight.

Caring about lap times but not the 'ring time is like someone caring about football but not the Superbowl.
  19. Another mustang variant is getting revealed tonight.

I figured out what happened! Ford revealed the SC earlier today, let the press record all their vids and everything, then Will Smith showed up and wiped their memories. So tonight they were like "OH SHIT WE NEED TO REVEAL THE DARK HORSE SC!!"
  20. Another mustang variant is getting revealed tonight.

Yeah fuck me every day, and twice on Sundays. That pissed me off, not gonna lie. I was just going off the official announcement showing the teaser. I assumed Ford wasn't gonna act all cute and secretive hinting at a reveal tonight, only to reveal the car was something they'd already officially...
