Looks like the LMP2 cars use a 600hp Gibson 4.2 V8 right now https://www.gibsontech.co.uk/engines/gk428-engine So that 5.4 should be making the same power (probably a class limit)

I wonder if the side-loading on the 5.4 is out of range for what they would want to warranty, or if it uses a non-production block, or.... And realistically how much HP are they going to get out of a 5.4 vs a 5.2 or 5.0? It's about 4% more displacement, so take the Dark Horse engine at ~ 500hp...

The GTD is getting beat by much more than 2 seconds on much smaller tracks. The ZR1 would be even farther ahead on large tracks. Who gives a shit about "ring times"

That'd be pointless. We already know it's slower around a track than the ZR1 (many independent tests have proven that) and it's in a different zip code when it comes to horsepower than the Corvette.

Stiffening? The S550 GT500 was just fine. This is just a re-hash. There were no complaints about the performance of the previous car.
