Do Ford dealers elsewhere do a free "peace of mind" check at around 2000 - 3000kms? Check fluid levels, retorqueing important bits, etc. I was suprised when mine did, never had that on any new cars, did on bikes though. It was a nice touch.

Up to 500kms i just drove normally with the occasional squirt up to 4k or so, no full throttle/high load application. After that I just increased rpm and throttle gradually till 1600 kms. Same as I've done with all my new cars. Job done.

I just put one furry ear muff around the dipstick tube, easy peasy now.

I can tell how much I like mine, 4000kms in 4 months, I averaged 500kms a month in my last two cars. Being retired, I only drive when I have/want to.

41 ft lbs shouldn't have broken that. I bet it has been overtightened before. You can drill right through the bolt head, not so sure about hammering it out though.

Wavings good. All bikers do it, except Harley riders. They only wave to each other, and I suspect some only wave to riders on the same model. I give the farmers wave to other 'stang owners, that's hand at the top of the wheel, raise the forefinger. Never the middle.

It's cruel to beat Harleys with a car. I gapped one with my MX5. Mind you, it was supercharged. He was seriously pissed off. Fist waving, bird flipping etc.

I just didn't see the value in spending $NZ21,000 extra for a DH. I'm sure I could get the GT handling as well for a lot less than that. And I'd miss the seats warming/cooling my butt. I've quite enjoyed that. (But not too much)

I'm guessing it's a captive bolt? If so, I think cutting off flush, drilling out and a new bolt and nut would be the way to go. It's going to be a PIA. BTW what's the torque figure?

Someone explained recently that throttle mapping in track mode is more linear than other modes. It's to allow finer throttle control during cornering.

Exactly. Any non factory offset figure shifts extra load onto the smaller outer wheel bearing. It's the larger inner bearing that is designed to carry the main wheel loading.
