Ditto. I'm even worse, a "trained" mechanic.

PS. Keep receipts for the oil and filter. Buy genuine filters while under warranty. Make sure the oil meets Ford specs

I did mine at 1 month, 2000kms. It's easy enough, though Ford use a gazillion screws on the underpanels. It worth buying a filter tool, and make sure your drain bin holds a bit more than 10 litres. Mine was 10 litres, it was a close run thing.

By shaking in first gear, does the OP mean when engaging the clutch, or while the car is actually driving in first. I put a solid disc clutch and lightened flywheel in an MX5 and it became undriveable. Clutch engagement was vicious in the extreme.
