if this is the case, OP should see a piece of paper when the vehicle is dropped at the dealer stating that it was randomly selected and X miles were put on it. i've seen it a few times, mainly on Rangers
my break-in was 1000 miles, varied rpm and load, and try to keep it under 5k rpm with some rare exceptions. will be doing the same thing for the Dark Horse
