  1. ZR1X is fixin to run 6:49 at the Ring

That's really strange. The Nordschliefe is another circuit where track knowledge is paramount. So there probably is an easy 20 - 30 seconds less with an experienced driver. It's a shame Sabine wasn't there. Or any of the locals. Put Timo Bernhard in the GTD
  2. Automatic or 6-speed - honest feedback

I get it. The essence of bike riding as well. Now they're making auto bikes, bloody heresy.
  3. Automatic or 6-speed - honest feedback

Is it rud Spank the monkey? Visit Mrs Palm and her 5 daughters? One off the wrist?
  4. Carbon Filter RWHP?

I wouldn't run without filters. Not after seeing the crud that they catch.
  5. Pre-Collision Assist and pedestians

I could never work out the croc thing. We saw them all over north Italy
  6. My First Near-Horrible Accident – A Moment I’ll Never Forget

No. I got home and got pneumonia, that was not nice.
  7. Pre-Collision Assist and pedestians

Can't help you there. But is true you can blacklist cyclists on the system?
  8. Connecting CTEK/Battery Tender

I forgot about this thread and started another in the US section. I got this reply "When the vehicle is powered off, the Body Control Module (BCM) runs a routine which confirms the battery's State of Charge (SoC). When the vehicle is in operation, the BCM monitors the interaction of the...
  9. My First Near-Horrible Accident – A Moment I’ll Never Forget

That's my point. It can be taken from you in a blink. With all due respect to the OP, having your car step out is not an NDE.
  10. Best way to make the horse on the grill go away.

It was great fun. I had to sell it when they were effectively banned after a mass shooting down south.
  11. Automatic or 6-speed - honest feedback

It may be automatic for you, but the rest of us have to work at it.
  12. Automatic or 6-speed - honest feedback

I should have clarified, normal driving around town.
  13. Carbon Filter RWHP?

OK, it must have been internet expertise I read. I think it was from a tuner. No problem to pull them out then?
  14. Best way to make the horse on the grill go away.

We called it the SLR, Self Loading Rifle. It was standard Army issue until we went to the Steyr AUG. I think we have M4's now. We could buy surplus SLR's quite cheap, but they were heavy. I bought a Taiawnese M16 clone in semi auto as a bush gun. Something tough that could roll around in the...
  15. Road Insanity

I don't know whether to be offended or whack you on the nose with a rolled up newspaper. My experience in driver testing was that the over 70's had better pass rates on their elderly driver tests than the new drivers. The real problem with the elderly is cognitive decline. Ours have to be...
  16. Road Insanity

The problem is the knobs behind the wheel.
  17. My First Near-Horrible Accident – A Moment I’ll Never Forget

I'm always intersted at the modern take on "near death" experiences. Most are nothing of the sort. One of mine was hypothermia. I fell asleep outdoors in winter, when they found me my core temp was 36C. Another hour or two and it would have been a very long sleep. And I would have known nothing...
  18. Automatic or 6-speed - honest feedback

The auto is pretty good, it has a lot more "mush" on take off compared to a DCT. But once moving it's fine, and track mode seems to read your mind. Very clever. If I did buy another, it'd be a Dark Horse, but there'd be sleepless nights over the 10 speed or Tremec.
  19. Carbon Filter RWHP?

With my driving, using DI nearly all the time, I'm leaving them in. Hopefully they do work and reduce carbon build up.
