I’m sure I’m wrong but to my casual observer eye…
It didn’t “look” fast… it looked slow and clunky.
But I hope it breaks all the records and my eyes are wrong.
I’ve seen S550s at the track multiple times as me, and they’ve been 3-4 tenths slower both times now.
Saturday was a perfect example, there was a stock GTpp running 12.3s at 113, the s550 GT was running 12.6s at 111. And the s550 claimed it had a tune for 93 🤷‍♂️
Again and again
What’s strange is he came from a foxbody background… he should be loving the 2024 and using all the old school hot rod tricks.
But…acts like it’s appalling to run fuel blends and trick sensors etc…
This shit goes back to locked out timing and jack ing up fuel pressure, or bigger injectors with...
1. My car gained over 4 MPH in the 1/4… so every bit of roughly 40 HP gain avg through the upper rpm band.
2. Sound isn’t too much louder… quiet works excellent still… stock resonator/catback.
I could assume a resonator delete would make me deaf.
3. Non emissions state.
For anyone that’s interested… full tank fyi.
That’s alot lighter than I expected, pleasantly surprised!
All this 4100 lb talk seems misplaced from the s550 crowd
Recap….on the 2nd run I tried manually shifting to hold gears longer… nosed over in 5th at the trap and killed MPH.
Tried foot braking off the line, didn’t really help… the car did get quicker as I got more passes in… people always think “let it cool down” but these coyotes like some heat in...
Ok data dump… also shoutout to @JimC super nice member and he sold me the rears/drag radials for a great deal, thanks 👍
Recap: prior all stock best was 12.0 @ 117 in 700ft D/A… all stock last November
FF to today… D/A of 2365 (terrible)
I installed longtube headers, stock resonator and...
Smoke a dozen T5s at 3-400hp. You’ll praise the mt82s ability to hold power and high rpm
also the tremec is overrated, people act like it’s a T56 viper spec or something…
Eh… break 1st… then replace.. especially at 2500 a pop.
it’s not a stick car… stick cars on drag radials that get into nasty wheel hop possibly may break an axle under certain conditions.
10r80 cars with fluid converters tend to have far fewer issues.
It was I turbo mustang… not sure what happened, but blew out a piston or cracked a ringland if I had to guess.
the track makes “hard tire” cars leave outside of the groove, so I had to stage off to the right.
I have a set of drag radials and have since put headers on, see if I get some runs...
I went 12.0 stock, stock tires, full interior, carbon traps still in etc… in bad air also.
I was consistently 3/4 tenths quicker and 3 mph faster than a stock 2020 GT 10r car all day.
I weighed 190, 10r80 active exhaust GT.
hope to have it back out tomorrow to see what it does after headers...
