Why would you remove part of the dash? You're just applying a matte coating to a small area that's producing glare. Tape around the edges and use a paint brush.

Have you guys considered Plasti Dip? It comes in matte colors. While you might be hestitant to use the spray inside the car, you can get it in liquid form too. And if you don't like the result, you just peel it off.
