I replied in simple English - not sure how you can make it simpler without actually providing the information I did.

    I got this one today

    Ehh? 🤷‍♂️

Car type approval in the EU is one set of regulations so that car makers can sell one car spec in all European countries. It actually covers other non EU countries that are aligned with the EU such as the UK. Those regulations could be argued to be increasing vehicle weights because of added...

I think mooted still applies - a long way to go before it happens, if it happens.

probably classed as political but as it is bipartisan probably no reason to delete? Seems there is bi-partisan support for nuclear in the US now Despite Bipartisan Backing, Nuclear’s Future Is Uncertain Under Trump | Council on Foreign Relations

Pence per mile is being mooted here but fuel tax does the same thing. My son lives in Tokyo and you can't have a car there without confirmed off street parking. Public transport is so good there really isn't any need however.

Well it is double for one of those and very much not for the other! You said double or triple, not remotely triple and maybe double if you choose your locations. There are places in the UK cheaper than what we are paying - not far of California prices at around $6 per US gallon. Completely...
  9. Gas prices [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

Very few people drive for 30 hours anywhere. That is at least 1600 miles. We would just fly for that journey. Why spend several days driving when you can do it in 3 or 4 hours in a plane plus a shorter car journey at either end? Yours is an extreme use case and interestingly the average US car...

There is a congestion charge in London inside certain areas, but this is only in the very central part of London. You pay it if you enter the area. No congestion charges outside London

We are not that stupid! But your gas prices are high now too! Our petrol equates to about $7 per US gallon - a little more than yours but not even double never mind triple.

Used EV's sell well here - good value and cheap motoring. That is of course the reason people buy them! Now a tiny country is Luxembourg but Europe covers thousands of miles in total so not so tiny, unless of course you are just using the term to demean and insult which I am sure you aren't!
  13. Gas prices [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

Erm EV is not a joke and country size has nothing to do with it. We do not burn coal or oil to produce electricity and most is from renewables now - another win taking away the need for oil company greed and the vagaries of war / not wars
  14. Gas prices [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

You drive EV's in a different way, you don't go from full to empty and you nearly always start with a full charge from home - just a different way of doing things
  15. Gas prices [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

Not long - no desire to turn this into an EV thread but for most people in the UK now EV works just as well as ICE. Most fast charge EV stations are around 20 minutes for a 20% to 80% top up (which is what happens most of the time) However by far the biggest stimulus has been the price of...

Well actual supply is an issue in many countries, which then impacts on global supply and prices.
  17. Gas prices [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

In the US maybe but in the UK charging is not a problem.
  18. Gas prices [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

Of course those with EV's don't have to pay to play! EV sales up hugely in the UK as a result of the 'not war'
  19. Front Hood Alignment

A lot of car makers do this - it means stone chips on the leading edge are on plastic not metal
  20. Front collision alert would let me kill myself

Also at higher speeds you get brake assist which puts extra power into the brakes. It was found that in most cases in an emergency stop most people were either not able to or simply were not pushing hard enough on the pedal to reach brake lock / ABS activation so there was 'surplus' unused...
