I can’t seem to find the detailed spec sheet that listed it, but I believe the S650 has steel fenders and not aluminum like the S550.
EDIT: The Ford document is here. The fenders are indeed steel.
The fact that you can option a GT Premium to more than the starting cost of a Corvette is ridiculous. I do not remember any other generation of Mustang where that was possible.
I’m not 100% positive because I’m not going to go back and check the previous 41 pages, but I believe it was established in this thread that, while the base GT MSRP isn’t bad relative to past Mustangs, the cost of real world builds has gone up significantly. It is genuinely possible to push a...
New cars are expensive, but I’m not sure it’s entitlement to take issue with the price of the car. Real world builds have gone up dramatically in the past few years, all while sales have gone down and content has been removed from the car. The other issue with price is that a used S550 is nearly...
There was a lot of hate from S550 guys intially over the dash and styling (both of which are subjective, obviously), as well as the inability to tune and the price increase(s). While tuning is no longer an issue, the price still is for a lot of people, along with the de-contenting of the car...
The @RTR Vehicles Spec 5 article is here for those that are interested.
2026 Mustang RTR Spec 5 Has More HP Than a GTD and Costs Less Too

Yeah, agreed. Ferrari also doesn’t test their cars at the Nurburgring as they have their own track, Fiorano, that they use for development and lap times. Not saying that the GTD wouldn’t be quicker, but Ferrari doesn’t run official Ring times.
Very little is going to feel fast on the street after driving a Plaid. The closest I’ve experienced is a Ferrari 296. It’s the only thing I’ve driven that felt like it had the same sensation of pull on the street as a Plaid.
Yeah, it’s really pretty ridiculous how the car has been losing content since the S650’s introduction. I didn’t realize that you can no longer get aluminum pedals at all… Ford just appears to be cheaping out so much this generation. Optional floor mats? Come the hell on.
Guess Ford has to save...
While I agree that the demand for used EVs is low and that is reflected in depreciation, the batteries last a lot longer than 6 years. One study shows that EVs will retain 80-90% capacity at 100,000 miles and beyond. Additionally, all EV manufacturers currently offer a minimum of an 8...
Lloyd’s made nice looking and good quality mats. I had a set of Mustang logo front mats and a 5.0 logo trunk mat in my S550. I was disappointed when I heard they stopped making Mustang mats.
Absolutely laughable pricetag. I don't care how fast it is in a straight line or around a track--at the end of the day, its a $200,000 car built on a platform that underpins a $32,000 Ecoboost Mustang, complete with nearly the same plastic interior.
C7 ZR1s were made for ONE model year AND were the last Corvette you could get with a manual transmission. Those are huge differences that are going to drive prices up. It’s not going to happen with the C8. They aren’t limited production cars.
There are only two kinds of people that are willing to spend a half million dollars on a regular production Chevy: people with more money than they can ever spend and people that need to get their heads checked. These will be MSRP (or less) before the production run ends. The pool of people...
