I don't think they need a couple hundred preorders to fund production. They're a nearly 40 year old company with nearly $30M a year in revenue. I'm sure the fact that Ford locked down tuning as tight as a drum on the S650 is a driving factor for any delay.

Absolutely untrue. Not only does every new vehicle have a TCU (telematics control unit), but there's also two different types of Wi-Fi connectivity that's unrelated to your phone.
Pairing your phone...
On my '21 F150, auto headlights seem to enable when I'm over like 32-33 MPH. Below that, they don't. Also, when it's dusk (some light), they can be finicky as well.
Thx. I didn't have to sell. I turn my vehicles over about every 2 years. I have 2024 GT on order. I may do the same @ Flat Rock. FWIW, my company produces a major component for ~70% of all NA market Ford & Lincoln cars, SUVs, and F-Series light trucks.
EDIT: Ended up buying a Dark Horse.
I was able to do that back in 2015 when my F150 was built. Followed it all the way from when it exited paint through trim, chassis, and final. When I sold it, I put all the pics and videos on a DVD and slipped it into the glovebox for the new owner. I hope they appreciated that ... 😉
From my salesman. Applies to all incentives, including special financing, not just rebates. Also, price protection if the prices increase within the model year - worst case, you'll get a check after the deal rather than the price adjusted at the time of sale.
Yes, I have personal knowledge of...
Valet mode is no different in the '24 Mustang that it is in every other Ford. It's intended to lock someone out of all your personal information (e.g., contact list from phone, saved places on GPS, etc.), and doesn't work like MyKey did.
So you had to wait until you had a VIN? Which means you weren't able to access that until after it was scheduled?
Congrats on getting your ride so quickly, BTW. I remember when all orders were that fast!
