WS6 driver probalby didn't latch it down. A buddy of mine did that with his Corvette many moons ago. Forgot to latch BOTH down ... subsequently lost both.

I meant in general, not specifically for Whipple. But if you actually think they had to take a couple hundred (at best?) preorders in order to ramp up production, that's just plain silly.
