  1. Why is Mustang heavier?

Be careful about the wording. The body panels on the F-150 are aluminum. The main frame is still made out of steel, as well as, the bed frame.
  2. Apple Carplay is horrendous

My father has a Ford Lightning and is experiencing similar issues with his Android Auto. I have encountered issues myself in the Mustang with Apple CarPlay. In my F-150, I never had a hiccup, but I also was limited to wired Apple CarPlay. Kind of sucks if you can't force the Apple CarPlay to...
  3. How many miles were on your car at delivery?

I think mine had around 25 miles on it. When I left the dealership (i.e. purchased it), it was less than 70 miles. I can't believe the dealership let me test drive it and put that many miles on it, but hey, I did end up buying the vehicle. And no, I did not do any crazy burnouts or WOT.
  4. Driving Tips - Manual Transmission

^ This. When slowing down, leaving it in gear allows you to better maintain control (i.e. accelerate if need to to change lanes to avoid hitting a stopped vehicle). Things tend to get more refined over the years. I remember hearing about leaving your hand rested on the shifter isn't good...
  5. How many miles do you get on 1 set of tires?

I'm hoping and will be glad if I get at least 2 years/25,000 miles out of the Pirelli's that come on the Performance Package GTs (I'm sure this is just wishful thinking). Years ago, I had a 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt SS Turbocharged and the factory tires barely lasted me 13,000 miles. And that's...
  6. How’s your gas mileage?

My first fill up, using a calculator and not relying on the instrument panel, came out around 14 MPG. The next fill up was 16 MPG. After that, 17-18 MPG. Granted, this is on winter blend gas. Vehicle has less than 2000 miles, but the mileage seems to slowly be going up. This is 90% city driving...
  7. Current Interest Ford Interest Rates?

If anything, I would think interest rates would be similar to house mortgage rates. You can lock in your rates within XX days of closing. However, once again, the finance rep is limited by what their system allows. The only real incentives that I could foresee being locked in prior to the...
  8. Greeting, Pony, remote features disabled

Also would like to add, on a positive note, that Ford provides this free of charge unlike other auto manufacturers that require a paid subscription to use these kind of features from your phone.
  9. Greeting, Pony, remote features disabled

I've been using FordPass since mid 2017 (when I bought my 2017 F-150). Within the last year of using it, I'm going to go out on a limb and say the FordPass app itself has gotten a bit wonky. For my 2017 F-150, I would get messages saying remote start has been temporarily disabled, but in...
  10. 2024 dead ?

Question. And I apologize in advance as this may not be the right thread to ask this, but does disconnecting the battery reset the oil life monitor? I know in the past, disconnecting the battery causes the radio station presets to reset.
  11. Lowest Temperature driving in stock Pirelli’s?

Just to clarify, I believe the main reason why the tire manufacturer recommends 45F and higher is to avoid potentially damaging the actual overall integrity of the tire (i.e. actual premature cracking of the rubber).
  12. Mustang Manual Available

I appreciate digital books. Makes it easier to do a quick find. However, I can also appreciate a hard copy manual for my vehicle.
  13. Why is Mustang heavier?

^ This. Especially with EVs (heavier than non-EV vehicles) starting to become more common, other vehicles on the road need to have beefed up frames and safety equipment to keep the driver and passengers safe. But wait, I'm sure it'll get even better (sarcasm). If I recall correctly, the safety...
  14. 2024 dead ?

Not that I have experienced this but knowing that this is a new platform (well, sort of), sounds like I need to/should keep a socket wrench in the trunk in case I need to disconnect the battery.
  15. Current Interest Ford Interest Rates?

Doubt it. The sales/finance reps can only do what their system allows. To the best of my knowledge, they can't just go in there and change the rate. If that were the case, there would be no point in running interest rate specials. As I previously stated, on the plus side, at least it doesn't not...
  16. Current Interest Ford Interest Rates?

Keep in mind, that unlike refinancing for a house, there is no cost/fee in refinancing a vehicle. I'm currently watching and waiting for loan rates to drop and as soon as they do, I plan on refinancing my vehicle.
  17. Lowest Temperature driving in stock Pirelli’s?

I drove my car on ice/snow a few weeks back (8F - 25F). Worst.Idea.Ever. 😂 Tires seem fine though afterwards. Only have 1700 miles and they look the same as they did the day I picked it up.
  18. Taking delivery in 2024

👎 (mainly for the auto/start-stop. Cool that you don't have to worry about the gas guzzler tax. Granted, why even list it on the window sticker?!)
