It is normal, as you won't receive communication until your order is scheduled to be built (which might not have happened yet).
That said, you can contact Ford (corporate) yourself to check the status of your order. Use the link below to access their Chat...
Besides Granger Ford, Chapman Ford of Horsham is the only other dealer (I know of) that's offering the '24 model below invoice without the A/X/Z plan discount.
True.
That said, my dealer's up north. While I'm in no hurry either, I'd prefer to have the car before the snow/cold hits so that I can drive it back. Those summer tires just won't do when it gets below 50*F.
I guess we'll be waiting until July for more builds now.
Assuming after that another 2 months for delivery, we're going to be pushing into the transition towards cold weather.
Ultimately, it's going to boil down to dealer discretion as far as how they handle this.
My suspicion though is that most of them will not eat up the $1K cost, and it is the buyer that is typically responsible for paying this tax anyway
Revenue from the fuel tax has actually been declining over the year, and now the government believes there's more money to be made by forcing everyone to utilize alternative forms of transportation besides gas-powered vehicles. So to discentivize people from buying gas-powered vehicles, the...
It's not even a gas tax "increase."
You were already liable for the $1K tax with the S650 GT. Ford, per typical of its incompetence, simply failed to advertise it (or rather bake it into their price).
If true, that kind of goes back to my post several weeks ago questioning why the tax was missing from the pricing guide for the GT (it was included for the DH) and if it was an error on Ford's part...
I would imagine the question of deposits get tricky depending on the contract (if any) you signed, especially in a state like SC with relatively poor consumer protection laws.
Some of them will bake language into the contract that accounts for price adjustments, and then you would still lose...
With respect to Price Protection, it's typically not something that's legally binding unless you signed an actual Purchase Agreement (which I suspect most here have not, since there's no vehicle to purchase *YET*).
It's merely a common courtesy on behalf of the dealer to hold the original price...
That, or demand is weaker than expected and they're trying to make up for the reduced demand by increasing the profit margin on the few vehicles sold...
As someone who used to work for Ford customer service, I don't think the employees really care about the order inquiries they're getting. They're getting paiid either way.
If anything, they love our order inquiries because they're quick & easy to answer (compared to most calls/emails/chats they...
There doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason with the scheduling
I have less options on my vehicle than others (I.E. no Nite Pony or Recaro Seats), and yet several Nite Ponys and Recaro Seats have been scheduled.
I also placed my order with one of the highest volume dealers for Mustangs in the...
Still Unscheduled - Clean as of this morning.
Guessing they're done for June builds.
In this instance, I suppose it did pay to place your order right when the banks opened...
I'm going to follow up with the Ford Performance chat line tomorrow. If they are scheduling more cars today, it may have to go through an overnight batch refresh in their database before it's official.
That's good advice if you're local to the dealer.
Many of us are ordering out of state (or even cross-country) though. We're not driving/flying hours or hundreds of miles away just to have a simple 10-15 minutes request (max) done in-person.
In such an instance, a phone call followed by an...
