Nearly 60, a full left leg amputee, and I still do all my own work. Oil changes are not difficult at all. And this way, I KNOW the work is done right. Plus I do it for much less and use full synthetic oil.
I've only let them do the truck because I got a free 3 year maint plan after some repair...

I have not, but I have installed something similar in both of my Honda SXSs.
One solution were individual, solid steel "cubes" with holes drilled through them, using longer bolts vs factory.
The other was a ~16" hollow steel tubes (one on each side) that installed in a similar way.

I've purchased a dozen and a half new vehicles in the past ~20 years alone. While I don't go out of my way to NOT do it, I have always seemed to leave trip ODO #2 alone the entire time we owned it. It was always within a mile or so of the last three digits of the actual ODO when I looked at it...
