What you are describing is probably the Ackerman effect. It's more noticeable now because it's cold and the tires are more likely to slide.
But yes, you still need to have those alignment specs validated.
I agree that the prices are high, and aside from the "pay MSRP" comment* there really aren't any good options in the new car market. Especially if you want a manual transmission.
* - depends where you live, some markets have limited availability and pricing flexibility. And with trade-ins...
If you don't mind traveling, dealers in Virginia (Coons) and Iowa (Grainger) will often get you great prices.
I bought my DH out of Ohio. I bought my previous car, a Zupra, also out of Ohio. M4 from Michigan.
Don't limit yourself to local dealers.
I learned a lot from this thread. If I saw that cap, I'd run away. Now I guess I would not.
Kudos to OP for doing the PPI. I wish more people would do that.
I concur, their glass cleaner is not good and Stoner's is excellent. Can you find Sprayway down there? It's even better than Stoner's.
Also, Griot's bug and tar remover I've found to be quite excellent, although I'm sure that the P&S is also good (it may be the same thing, as their wheel...
This is, unfortunately, the way it seems to be these days in America. People are quick to anger and refuse to listen to other perspectives or ideas when they vary from their own point of view.
There seems to be little rational discourse anymore, and that's sad.
Excellent advice, I concur.
Also, because you recently got a new engine, you are probably understandably paranoid and hyper diligent for new issues.
Instead, chill, enjoy the car, and get past the break-in. Then you can start to worry if needed.
Tremec, Tremec, Tremec you guys keep bringing this up like it's the big difference with the DH. I can't believe that we are totally ignoring that cool little blue shifter ball!
Here's the KBB story if anyone is interested.
What happened in Russia was likely due to Porsche pulling out of the country in 2022 after the invasion of Ukraine, and refusing to support their dealer network since. No one seems to know why the satellite communication failed, or will admit to...
Well... from what I've read, they weren't "shut down", they simply didn't start. And dealers and mechanics figured out how to work around it.
I'd like to see the actual law that the OP references, since what I've found isn't even remotely close to the Internet doomsayers' interpretation...
First, congrats!
Second, good luck with the SC, that should be a blast.
Third, I've sold a few expensive one year old cars recently, and I had to go the same route... place an ad and wait for one of these wholesaler-type dealers to buy it. Upside is that they pay promptly and no games...
I think that sums it up well. If it has stuff you want, it's great. If it doesn't, it's overpriced. Although I guess that applies to just about everything.
I bought mine used, so I was able to bypass the pee pee evaluation.
