Exactly. It looked great, handles great, and my wife liked riding in it. But thanks for reminding me how awful it was getting in and out of the C8. My other complaints were a too firm ride, mediocre digital dash, knob twist mode change, lousy 16 speaker Bose, silly console instrumentation...
My '25 has Brembo Brakes option without PP. The big brakes give it a few suspension changes. I wouldn't want it any firmer. I sold my C8 Z51 with Magnetic Ride because it was too firm-no matter in Tour Mode-among other reasons,
I've ordered cars, and bought them off the lot. Funny, the ones I loved the most were off the lot at the end of the year sale. Either way, you'll never miss the money once it's spent.
Years ago on a 1980 Corvette, plastic trim was either painted or plastic cast in the same color. I had replaced and painted several pieces parts that were broke from the factory or other wise. It was undetectable. I like the junkyard search idea, but check into whether the piece can be...
I think eliminating Auto Start-Stop is great. Now we need an OBD2 plug-in to defeat the feature in our cars. Over the air updates won't work, nor will Ford do it. It's time for reasonable pollution standards instead of spending billions to get another 1/1000 of 1 percent of CO2 or NOx out of...
Tell the dealership someone there needs to get into the trunk. Close the lid, run water over certain body areas one at a time to find the source of the leak. I learned that from a former Honda and other makes mechanic.
On a 6 speed the engine module revs the engine RPM automatically to match downshifts. In theory it’s a great idea to reduce clutch wear while enhancing driving smoothness. The problem is that sometimes I paused between shifts to make some kind of decision about what I want to do, then the rev is...
I turned mine off because it operates erratically. Automatic Hi-Beams yes, RSW’s no, Adaptive Cruise control yes, Lane Assistance no, Hill Hold yes, Rev Matching no.
One inch is huge. Top end is higher because you're effectively changing (higher) the rear axle ratio maybe 4%. In my case the ratio went from 4.10 to estimating 3.9. Acceleration is slower with a higher rear axle. BTW, top end was 116 MPH.
A lot of opinions here...I'm against taller tires. It's makes your car slower, and while speed isn't everything, it cost me bragging rights back in the 1970's. I switched my 1971 Z28 E60-15 bias for G70-15 radials. I really didn't know any better. This, and revving past the sweet spot...
I thought its gear ratios short, especially compared to my 2000 Corvette. That had a Tremec with much taller gears, but the GT has a 7000 or so redline. That makes sense for the Getrag first gear at 3.237 vs the 2000 C5‘s 2.66. Plus the GT rear end starts at 3.55.
I’ve been in this position twice in the last 10 years. It might work if you trade if the taxes in your State work out. The first time I wanted to sell my 6 month old, dodge charger scat pack. I wound up waiting till the end of the model year and traded it on a heavily discounted challenger. RT...
I concluded that a car's personality is even more important than performance, and style. I love the 6 speed GT. I loved C3 Corvettes, 3rd Gen Firebirds, 6th and 3rd generation Chargers and Challengers. It took a lot of money and mistakes to figure this out.
Ford calls this polished aluminum, but it’s painted and cleared.
not sure if I answered. Ford calls these polished aluminum. But they’re not polished aluminum in the sense than I know. These wheels are definitely painted and cleared.
That's a lot of damage. I'm guessing these are painted and cleared. That's an issue. You can try yourself by finding the correct wheel paints, then filing, sanding, sanding finer until you have a good surface. If you're particular, get it done professionally or you'll never be satisfied.
Do you need 19 inch wheels and above for 6 piston Brembo's ?
19" will work, but not sure about 18. Try a "Build and Price" and see if you can option Brembo's on an EcoBoost car.
