Good points but it's not just Mustang enthusiasts. It's all US car based enthusiasts. That's why there is no Camaro, or Challenger. The market today is just to small for the Mustang versions everyone on here is asking for (and denigrating Ford for not doing exactly what they want).
So here's...
How’s this for an idea? Farley just says “screw it”. The ungrateful bastards will complain about whatever we do so let’s just scrap the whole damn thing. All we need are trucks and SUV’s. See problem solved. Time to buy a Prius.
Would you take the 5.4 with no warranty? Seriously you do not put a race engine in a car warrantied for 50k miles. You also are not going to eat the cost to get a race engine 50 state emissions certified.
So this is where we politely say “well it’s your car and you can do whatever you want”. :cwl: Seriously D, obviously not my thing but it is striking and certainly stands out.:like:
I agree with you 100% but the Shelby name has been around for over 60 years. That's history. The DH name has been around for 3. Not really a fair comparison at least for today. Now come back 20 years from now, hopefully, and let's see if that changes.
You do realize that the Shelby “name” was pure marketing as Shelby American had nothing to do with Ford’s cars. There is more to a car than just its name. But I understand the allure that the Shelby name has.
Of course I do, but playing Devils Advocate is fun. You’ve been around long enough to remember the bashing the S550 originally took. And the bitching about the GT350, Bullitt, and Mach 1. Now it’s the Dark Horses time. The car will never be what everyone wants and that’s OK. At least Ford is...
You do realize that any Chevy and/or Dodge fan reading this thread would be laughing their asses off at us whiny little spoiled brats. And crying in their beer wishing they had such problems.
OK, I get it. Due to physical limitations I no longer can drive a manual but I understand the fun factor. But this is a car with a different mission. Different strokes! 👍
