That was just the tune. The other parts were in the baseline number. So custom tuning increased horsepower by 4%, or, stated another way, adding the aftermarket parts (headers, ported intake, etc.) added horsepower, but left 4% on the table using the stock Ford tune. It's kind of a lot when...
There is a lot more to tuning than timing, especially on this engine.
spark timing - and there is more to it than simply adding timing, in fact, retarding timing at the top end of the quarter mile is used by professional and serious amateur drag racing teams

In an older thread @Q6543 says is is advisable to swap belts when going fro 3.5 to 3.75
K060815 is for the smaller pulley.
Still, this is monster power. I wish he had shown the SAE number instead of just STD, but it is what it is (marketing).
827 rwhp
659 rwtq
No Tuning (standard Whipple tune)
He does say the car has long tube headers.
This was run on E30, basically adding some E85 to your tank. The kit comes with a 3.75 pulley for when you want to run 91-93.
So E30 definitely helps in some situations.
I wonder what tuning...
LOL, I did not mean to start a fight. I just assumed the concrete would have more traction, and as a plus it was arrow straight and flat and empty, but, yeah, I was skidding around like I was on ice.
Maybe I'll try it again on asphalt and report back.
I have asked that question a few times, why is everybody wanting the redline to be at 8000 and all of these YouTube videos of 8000 rpm shifts? Is there more horsepower? Does it make the car accelerate faster? If the car does not accelerate faster, you are simply putting a lot more stress on...
Get the LMR DH wheels. Same size and appearance (slightly different) and backspacing as the originals with a lighter weight.
Here they are with Michelins:

But you can buy the Trofeo RS tires online...
LOL, I was not even thinking about the tires.
And the front splitter looks cool as hell, so I can live with the mileage.
I was looking at my car as I left it in the parking deck, thinking, man, that is a nice looking car.
LOL, my first car had a redline of 5,500.
My Pontiacs were 5200.
I have built engines where the redline moved up, a small block Chevy to 7,000, but it broke, so maybe that was too much . . .
It is still wild to me that this engine runs at such high rpm.
I hear what you are saying. I never...
