It wasn't "at speed." He was, according to his own estimation, around 4 seconds in. I doubt his estimation is accurate, but, even if it was, his Mustang takes more than 4 seconds even to do a 0-60 run in perfect conditions.
Yes, these cars will get a little sideways in Drag Mode "at speed."...
Your Dad needs to be slapped, hard.
First for getting a 15 year old a car like this, and again for encouraging you to pull this stunt on a public street last night.
Since your Dad is not responsible enough, then you should be aware that racing in Florida is up to one year in jail, a $1000...
He said he did that "this morning," twice, but it does not say whether it was before or after the baseline. He did say it "made no difference on the dyno whatsoever."
He does not say.
Whipple with methanol injection (wow, I haven't see that used on S650s - feels like 1990s)
Very short video without a lot of information, title says 950 whp
I am not seeing much in the way of tuned Whipple cars since tuning came out for the S650.
Please post them here, along with noting things like fuel (93, E30, E85, something else), headers, and other mods (pulley size if you know it).
I would have thought the forum would be flooded with them...
I saw it and thought I better post a thread so others could post results. I am sure there will be more.
Almost 30 horsepower with nothing but fuel change and a tune is nothing to sneeze at.
I imagine it will go higher with headers and free flowing intake and more tuning.
I thought the Nitto tires were for trying to get a launch without using a drag slick.
I also thought RTR was a track focused sort of car.
Are drivers running Nittos on road course track days?
Maybe something is lost in translation, but my post was strong praise for your work and results. I do not have any suggestions and would have been scared to death to try what you did to your car.
Just kidding.
It grabbed in each and every mode and even hooked when switching up to the next gear in Drag Mode (and Drag Mode shifts violently, it bounced my head off the head rest, lol).
So maybe my tires are not "shagged" yet.
This was on dry asphalt, afternoon temps in the 90s, tires...
