On the other hand they are pretty tolerant of speeding, within reason. While it is no guarantee, you basically have to hit 15 over before anybody is interested in making a stop, so you can run 80+ on the interstate where it is 70 mph speed limit without any real concern.

That is all how I understand things to operate BUT Two posters above said this occurred while one drove steadily at 70 mph on the highway, and the other was driving across the desert to California at speeds of 80 - 100 mph. The fans do not really matter anymore at those speeds, do they?
