My car does not use oil, either. No catch can.
I thought it was using a lot of oil, as it was a quart low, but since I ran a track day since then and miles and nothing, this was either Ford underfilling the oil at the factory or maybe the car burned oil initially until the rings seated (I tend...
Why should it be necessary or desirable to catch water rather than heating it to vapor and sending it out the tailpipe?
Oil vapor - well, is the catch can doing something desirable for the engine that the stock factory system does not already do or do better? If so, what? And how do we know?
Do catch cans actually help out cars?
Done incorrectly, they can actually increase oil consumption. I know this from the incorrect oil separator being installed by a shop on my Audi.
But is there a real benefit, not theoretical, but a tested and measured benefit against a control?
Yep. I have seen you post that before, with the gain at the track.
I keep hearing that there is more to be gained once you make modifications, like headers, by tuning for those modifications.
Another 20? Maybe?
Also, I live in an emissions testing area, so . . . this is something I have to...
Yeah, it's a bad idea.
I am a law abiding, nonviolent sort, a former police officer, but if I was inattentively driving, or even if I was intentionally driving closely to your rear bumper (say, if you were in the left lane and had not yet taken the hint to move over to the right to allow me to...
It seems like there is a market for this. But there is not rigid strut tower brace on the market (there is, however, a flexible "brace" that does not brace anything and is just for looks).
Is this impossible? Is there not enough room for a brace between the hood and the blower? Are there...
