The issues seems to be the batteries on these car aren't getting fully charged on a regular driving, or they are draining way to fast due to the electronics. My guess is the latter. There are tons of people on this forum who couldn't get the latest update due to a low battery condition and...
Got this message on my phone last night. First time I've ever seen it.
I hooked up my battery tender and charged it over night.
This morning on my way to work, I got the chime again on startup, instead of the heartbeat.
On my way home everything was normal and got the heartbeat on startup...
I can see both sides to this. Recaros are for track use only. So you certainly dont need heated seats and the added weight of electronics and motors. But at the price point, I think a compromise could have been reached similar to other high end track cars.
Thats because it's not piston slap. It just got repeated by every internet yokel so much that people who dont even know what piston slap is starting repeating it. The BBQ tick really got people in a tizzy for a few years.
Nah. Sounds like a game of internet telephone. This is exactly what I mean by going down the rabbit hole. I spent years on the 6G forum and never heard about any "teething issues". Not saying they don't exist, but you'll need to show me some numbers on those "many many warranty claims". Lol
The typewriter or BBQ tick is pretty distinct. But you are right, many people conflate injector tick, the 2k rattle, and BBQ tick as the same thing.
No. "Piston slap" is/was often wrongly thrown around on the internet as a reason for the tick or the "2k rattle". But there was never a bore...
Well, pretty much all of them have the tick to varying degrees. You just haven't heard yours yet. 😉
But I agree, its widely accepted as a harmless Coyote noise. In 10 years, I have yet to read about any failures attributed to it. A half a bottle of Ceratec after an oil change cures it in 95% of...
That's been a debate since 2011, and to a lager extent since 2018 when it became prevalent in the 3rd gen coyote. There are theories, but no tech or any one from Ford has been able to formally diagnose. If you want to go down the rabbit hole, do a search on the 6g forum. I'd highly recommend...
That's only on manual transmission cars. Autos already have it at the bottom of the sceen where I circled. This does not change when you enable continuous gear display.
