Ford did say there would also be an all new, as of yet unseen EV demonstrator that they would be taking to pikes peak this year to try and set a new record. Maybe, just maybe, that's something mustang based, we'll have to see.
They could pull some cheap move, a sticker package or something else...
Ford does areo design very well imo. Between this, and the latest Ford gt, they're masters at making higher performance cars with aggressive areo that are still sexy as hell. I do agree with one of the above comments that the wing is a little big, but it's obviously there for s reason. Give it a...
We all know Ford loves celebrating milestones of their iconic products. Releasing a new mustang for the 50th anniversary and making a new gt supercar for the 50th anniversary of their historic Le mans win are just a few examples.
I wonder if Ford is planning to reveal anything special, or...
I think we'll get something with a performance level that surpasses the s550 Shelby's, but I agree, Ford needs to move past the Shelby branding. I predict whatever it is will have some form of the 5.4 Ford is running in the mustang gt3, much like how the Corvette gt3 has a 5.5 flat plane crank...
Exactly, I'm so sick of this rose tinted glasses stuff. I could see some arguing older muscle cars having better designs, or being more thrilling to drive without all the modern safety features, I can't argue someone is wrong when it comes to their subjective opinion.
But man, old cars were...
Good sir, back in the 60s, you had 5, 10 times as many defects as modern cars, and significantly shorter lifespans. Brands issue recalls today, most companies had an F U approach to business back in the 60s. You can't take that approach to business anymore.
Good sir, if you own a WRX, then a mustang 5.0 is nothing to be concerned about. That would be like owning a 1980s Kia with 300,000 miles on it, and being worried about a new Toyota Corolla being reliable.
So let's just engage in some interesting comparisons here, maybe not apples to apples, but the most fair comparison in terms of dollar to dollar relative to horsepower. That would be a modern Ecoboost to a 1966 Shelby gt350, fair how? Because even this top dog old school mustang can't equal the...
Exactly how I described it. I should also add it doesn't seem to color shift under light as much as area 51 does. Area 51 goes from light almost baby blue under direct sunlight, to a rich grayish teal under overcast, and almost a battleship gray-blue in pitch black.
Whereas vapour blue appears...
It's quite similar to Ford's other blueish grays. Basically take area 51, make it slightly darker, and give it some blue metallic flake. I like the color. I just don't know if it fits the mustang very well. It's the kind of color I associate with a truck or SUV over a sports car.
The 2.3 is a very reliable engine by turbocharged engine standards, so it should be fine. Most people will never admit it, but they usually do really dumb things and break their cars. For instance, someone who runs nitrous and drag races their ecoboost constantly will probably blow something up...
I was mixed on this as well. I mean, my freaking maverick has actual carbon fiber in the dash, recycled carbon fiber that makes up the speckled white material, yet their sports coupe fakes it. But at the same time, a variety of textures and materials is better than just piano black on everything.
I hear some of the complaints about touch screen interfaces, they can be poorly done, but Ford did all right here. There are some functions which I want to be moved from the touch screen to buttons in a refresh, but it's not terrible. It's not like Tesla where you have to use the touchscreen for...
So I had the opportunity to sit in an s650 ft for the first time, I frankly don't understand the hate directed towards the interior. Here's my thought process, my reasoning as someone who wants to work as a car designer, and is developing my portfolio as we speak, including a muscle car.
The...
Cars are far more reliable now than they were back then. Your average car in the 60s only lasted about 5-6 years on average from the time it was brand new to the time it was scrapped in a junkyard.
As for the price, when you factor in inflation, you actually get a lot more dollar for dollar...
Yeah, I can understand why the mustang branding is controversial, but the mach-e is objectively a great vehicle. It's fast as hell for a crossover, good looking, great chassis balance and steering from what I've heard, it's relatively reliable and well built. Most of all, it's not really an SUV...
