Man, this without the SC should've been the regular DarkHorse (as a true GT350 successor) and the DH we got should've been the loaded GT ...
Wasted opportunity... People would complain much less...
Yes and no. As fa as I'm told Shelby is (god, using that name and knowing it’s no longer Ford Performance and Shelby working together but rather some money grabbing heirs is so distasteful) buying DarkHorse SC cars and then modifies those cars. That’s why you almost never see them on a lot and...
Absolutely not and for the same reason Ford banned the GTD bodykit... It would hurt sales. But I would assume that the refresh will have some styling elements in it. However, the SC isn’t all that different compared to the regular S650. Sure, more Aero and functional parts but all in all it’s...
A Whipple kit, a body kit, interior 'upgrade' and obviously the name but yeah, way overpriced as Shelby America has always been in the last decade or so.
If it were a Ford Racing' GT350 for $85K I would buy one in an instant.
The name is just much more compelling than Dark Horse or any of its derivatives...
The disappointment is rooted in a lack of progress… We had the GT500, a fantastic car for a fairly reasonable price in 2020. 6 Years later we get almost the same car with minor upgrades and most likely a heavy price hike… Inflation would price the car in the mid $80K but corporate geed will push...
Just watched the video and it is exactly the least they could’ve done. I didn’t expect anything else after the S650 reveal but damn, still a letdown… I don’t even think it looks as good as the GT500 and that’s not even considering the name…
In order for it to not be a total turd it would have...
They used that phrase quite literally with every presentation of a new trim in the last couple of years and it means close to nothing.
It can be translated to: 'we did the bare minimum but with a maximum in marketing it looks spectacular'...
I don't think it's some general hate against the predator engine - at least not from my perspective.
It's just we've seen it over and over and over again... It's been the heart of the GTD, GT500 and the F-150 for the Last 7 years. It's a strong base configuration but it offers nothing new...
The question is what's under the hood...
Hopefully it's more than just another supercharged 5.2L - and by more I mean more exciting stuff, AWD and other things that spice up the old GT500 setup.
Very interesting and to me this looks like a clean leak...
In the center we can see the DarkHorse Boss?! If it would be the Cobra version, and based on the grill I would assume it is the supercharged version, it would carry a Cobra instead of the Mustang emblem, right?! Or does Shelby hold the...
They don't really talk much about the Dark Horse as it is driven by the third driver but the video shows clearly why the Mustang and all versions above the GT desperately NEED AWD. If it would be implemented similar to the charger or any BMW M car one could get the best out of two worlds...
I read the article when it came out but I don't think it contains many valuable information...
I doubt that we'll see the 5.4L from the GT3 car unless Ford plans to use it instead of the Predator engine in the F150 and the Mustang. 5.4L is the maximum displacement for a basic Coyote engine...
That would be awesome
I doubt it until I see it. Youtubers are not a reliable source, expecially that guy had some wild theories in the past... Not saying it cannot happen but from everything we've seen so far I am far more conservative on what the Cobra might be. I still think it's going to be...
I think that the Mustang has to be competitive in order to stay relevant and there are several areas where it could compete:
1. Price/Performance.
Problem: The price is nowhere near it once was and although all prices are up the mustang can longer be seen as bargain. It's already too expensive...
Didn't even see the antenna because the photos were either taken in front of a tree or had other reasons why it didn't pop out as much as it should...
Still not sure about those exhaust tips... Reminds me of those fake as$ AMG square exhaust tips... Loved the ones on the GT500...

Ford Authority spotted the GT500 successor as a convertible... I fancy the idea and would buy one if it would come as a manual. However, as far as I remember the S550 GT500 was also spotted as a...
