i do like the more driver focused design of the 2024 interior vs the flat design that the 550 and 197 used. the screens i could take or leave in regards to shape. theyre placed so the dash is in the same spot as the S550 so thats a non issue for me. i dont see how people think its 'distracting'...
i cant remember the last time i ever listened to the am/fm radio in a car. everyone i know either uses bluetooth or aux and listens to Spotify/Apple music instead.
yeah, a lot of people buy cars based on what they can afford right now, then get 5 year loan terms without considering how much its going to cost in 5 years for the same car. especialy with the crazy circumstances with gas prices of the past few years, from the covid lockdown forcing gas...
imo the '24 fixes what issues i had with the S550, and even some i have with the S197 (live axle). Dont get me wrong, the S550 did a lot that i liked, mainly the IRS, so did the S197 with the Coyote and aggressive front. But the S550 was way to rounded at the front, it looked like a Ford Fusion...
hate to say this because i would've loved to drive this thing over the summer but being realistic, anyone who ordered in march expecting to see the car before August were only setting themselves up for disappointment. Had this been a new trim of S550 then yeah summer would be a reasonable...
its not really a lie though...
1. yeah they shut the factory down...thats a supply chain issue...because the factory supplies the cars that Ford sells...
2. based on your postings you ordered a convertible, which is on hold right now...due to not having the supplies needed.
Also its an...
i understand the concern here but, from my understanding of the reading, this is pretty much a non issue already.
some key points to back that up:
1. current EPA mustang CO2 emissions sit around 350g/mile
2. its a phased standards rollout with 2032 being the "82" year here.
3. the EPA proposal...
its a butterfly valve system, one of the two pipes has a butterfly valve in it, while the other is open at all times, as you flip through the modes the butterfly valve opens more and more. the valve itself sits right at the back of the muffler, before the tips.
Looks too much like a Camaro to me.
im not sure how i feel about the boxy design of it, but in a sea of (from a non truck person) forgettable copy/paste truck front ends, i appreciate the effort here.
but what do the A10 guys say?
honestly these days, transmission choice is entirely based on what you want. performance difference between the two is so minor that your average driver probably wont notice any difference there. Me personally i went with the 10r80 because, to be honest, as fun as...
probably not, itll probably be another round of the S550 generation, or as you stated earlier, the S550.5. like the S197 II (10-14) there will be a noticeable bump in sales but ultimately flatline, who knows? i never said the screens were going to save the mustang, hell, im expecting the stand...
calls the previous generations trash, proceeds to say market was exhausted in 2016/17
so what youre saying is that the S550 was so lackluster that nobody really wanted to trade for one after its second year? whats your point here?
i find this statement very funny with the added context that the S550 is the LEAST sold Mustang generation, especially compared to the S197 it replaced, S197 sold 620k units in the first 5 years, S550 sold 614K...in 8 years.
thats if they can find/afford it though since most sales are still done on dealer lots anyone looking for a mustang, 4 banger or otherwise, will probably find it easier than a ranger raptor
thanks, i wonder where that discrepancy comes from then.
either way, you can already see the beginnings of the recent market movements here, S550 sales are up to 2018 levels. i wonder what influenced it more, the Camaro and Challenger leaving production, or Dealers trying to push the S550 out...
anyway...to get this topic back on track. I can understand why some people would be upset about the change, after all the double cowl design is a legacy design that's been around for a long while. But, at the same time, i didn't buy my mustang for its dashboard, and my co workers, friends, and...
