Correction, he's not really human. Maybe a sentient beast.
Killing two people over a car?
At least with the US Justice system he'll be out of cirulation for a long time, if not permanently.
If it goes 8 - 10 years, it's fine with me, I intend to keep this until I can't drive anymore. And, hopefully, it should have reasonable retained value.
I'm guessing there'll be a few petrolheads left who want a relatively simple, powerful car that doubles as a middle finger to all the killjoys...
Sam the Racing driver, as they call him, is actually a pretty capable pedaller. But those guys don't seem to spend the time to learn the ins and outs of the cars they drive.
12.5 - 1/4 is not great. But their timing system isn't state of the art either. Only records to 1 decimal place.
What got...
I've always used Mobil R4T in my bikes. I used to use that in my cars too, but switched to Mobil 1 when I started buying newer cars. That started to get hard to find where I was living, and really expensive.
So for the last 8 years I've used Castrol Edge 5w/30LL which is factory fill on VA...
I've just got around to watching this. What a great vid.
Knowing that Mr Blue is Dutch does explain a few things. We had a lot of Dutch immigrants here in NZ. They are very hard working people. But, to put it nicely, they are quite direct. They will call a spade an f'n shovel, which is quite...
I decided to take the wheels off and clean them, plus the calipers and the wheels wells.
Had to go to Supercheap Parts first because Ford, in their wisdom, uses 21 mm wheel nuts, and I didn't have a socket.
Then discovered that 204 nm torque is a lot. Especially repeated 20 times.
Like Fraulein...
I always use factory filters on new cars. For oil, I use Mobil One 5w/30 or Castrol Edge 5w/30LL.
I'd use Motorcraft oil, but I think the dealer uses Havoline which I'm not keen on.
Down here = $NZ800 for a basic service. That's, say, $300 for oil and filter, $500 labour and incidentals. $200 odd an hour
Last service before I sold my Cupra, they charged $8.70 to top up the washer bottle. I know my car inside out, it would only have taken 100-150 mils.
They charged a friend...
DIY = $NZ220 for Mobil 1 5w/30, $NZ55 for the filter. A stealer will probably add $150 to that for labour.
You know why they call it labour? Because it happens after you've been screwed.
Paddle shifters require different muscle memory especially if you've been driving a manual. It takes a while to get used to them. A manual shift mode on the shifter would be a good idea.
I don't use sport mode much, but I discovered it will upshift at lower revs, it just delays a bit to make sure you haven't just backed off the throttle for a bit of engine braking.
I think it uses a similar protocol to my home inverter heat pump. It will maintain auto temp, but I can alter fan speed to keep noise low, or put it on auto fan.
Our Skoda also has a fan speed setting for climate auto setting which keeps fan speed either low, med or high.
