I've just had a week in Mooloolaba, and I don't care about depreciation, carbon tax, whatever other BS Albo forces on you. You are very lucky buggers to live in OZ, especially Queensland.
None of the doom and gloom that we have over here in whatever name we're supposed to call NZ. Even my wife...
I've used V1's for 30 years. I won't use anything else, because nothing offers the countermeasures V1 and the JBV1 app does.
In one package I have excellent, perhaps the best? radar detection.
Crowd sourced alerts like Waze. Databases for speed/red light cams, ALPR cams, PAWS aerial...
I hate the BS add ons. I got charged $9 for 150cc of washer fluid on the last service, and I missed it because I was in a rush. This dealer was also hitting a friend of ours for 2 x $100 wiper blades at every yearly service. She only did about 5000km a year.
That sounds like a great deal considering a DH is only $NZ21k more than my GT PP down here.
Except I couldn't stretch to that and I wanted instant gratification not a 7 month wait.
In Europe and OZ.
But we've been down this road before. Drivetrain losses are a given, so whether power is quoted at the crank or wheels is pretty much irrelevant. Excepting that crank HP measured under controlled conditions is more accurate and consistant.
I use custom mode, engine and shifting in normal, steering and exhaust in sport, ASS off. Paddles when I feel frisky.
Next road trip I'm going to try track when it gets twisty.
I remember changing the oil in my 1967 Morris 1100 (stretched mini) every 1000 kms. With good reason, they ate idler bearings if you didn't, and that's an engine done.
I just saw my OLM at 40% after 5000km and 9 months. Seems right for my usage.
