Whenever possible I'll gap a tailgater and put a car or two between us. I never brake check people. that's asking for a real shitfight. If I can't get away from them, I increase the distance to the car in front of me.
PS. Do they have tailgaters in Florida? They seem to have every other 'gater...
I normally leave the auto in auto mode, normal around town, sport or track in the twisties. But yesterday I played with manual shifting. I'm really impressed with this trans, downshifts into 2nd and 1st are a bit jerky at low speed, but upshifts are as good as my DSG's were, and downshifts in...
Yes, 50/50. The Germans called it MW50 and the name stuck. There were a lot of engine differences, very low compression ratios, the Allies had up to 150 octane at times, but usually 100. MW50 allowed considerable boost increases for short periods.
The weird thing was that a subsequent owner of...
Does this apply to MW50 though? I did none of that, I used the jet recommended by the tuner and ran the pump at 6 - 9psi over max boost, the jet was pre blower so distribution was not an issue. I put static timing back to stock instead of 6 dgrees retarded that Sebring said, and plug readings...
You can get a rough correlation between temp and pressure. Drive at highway speeds till tyre temps should be at normal, note the pressure rise from cold on TPMS and then check tread temp with a laser temp gauge. Temp follows pressure rise.
I used this to set optimum cold tyre temps on my bikes.
I've also driven all over Italy. from the Stelvio to Syracusa and through both coasts. They are the most aware drivers I've shared the road with, and actual aggression is rare. When you're passing a car at 130kmh and some big German diesel comes up fast and sits on your bumper until you pull...
Yeah I know they're fast, but where's the drama? When the dealer fired up the Mustang demo I was 50% hooked, What's a Hyundai dealer going to do? Say, just listen to this whine?
It'd be like listening to someone humming Nessun Dorma after Pavarotti had just sung it.
EV's have their place, just...
My trans is so much better since the first service, no idea what they did apart from checking oil level (it was fine), but it is much more responsive to throttle position.
I like that you're testing cold pressures v pressure at running temps. Damn good idea even for street use.
I'm running 32psi cold for street use and haven't seen abnormal wear yet.
I had adjustable Koni dampers (not dampeners) on an MX5. Being able to adjust rebound/compression is a big help in set up.
I'll be looking for adjustable units when I replace the stock ones on mine. It feels like rebound damping is too soft at the rear.
Yep, I'm into lateral G more than longitudinal, but you have to pick the time and place.
Blind bends are neither, but if you can see 3 or 4 corners ahead it's game on.
