Just did this today to a 2025 Ecoboost base, stock steering wheel no paddles.
The only address I changed was 720-02-01 (720-12-01 already had the correct value "E" in the appropriate position).
I tried shifting into L and it seemed to drop to the lowest possible gear, not Neutral. I think...
Ford had a 4,000 rebate on all leftover 2025s in March (even Ecoboosts). That's gone now for April. How do they expect the dealers to get rid of the few leftover 25s now?
Disappointed.
$9K over a base Ecoboost ($2195 High package + $6520 RTR package). For a couple grand more you get a GT, whole different kind of car. GT also has significantly higher rebates than Ecoboost (i.e. $4,000 off vs $1,500 off) and more negotiation room, so that negates the price gap...

(This is the TSB for Expeditions/Navigators but it's actually the same issue)
Here's what a muffler delete sounded like. SR Performance (American Muscle's house brand) axle-back for S550, but I don't recommend because the tips cracked apart after a few weeks
I recommend trying an axle-back alone without an X/H-pipe.
Axle-back alone: deep rumble, zero rasp. Volume increases like 30-70% depending. Muffler delete (basically just a metal pipe as the axle-back) gives you the deepest loudest rumble but may drone.
X/H alone: adds some volume, maybe a...
Hmm interesting, might be the case, as I've heard Toyota has also stretched out product lifecycles ( Next-Gen Toyotas Will Now Last for Almost a Decade - Autoblog )
Makes sense automakers might all be trying to devise new cost-cutting strategies however possible. We're definitely already seeing...
Any clues lately regarding MY2027 refresh/facelift? Or when might we find out?
Seems like it would make sense, and S550 got refreshed after 3yr, so it's about time. Trying to decide whether to trade/upgrade for a discounted leftover '25 or new '26 or wait a year for refresh.
24GTBadland's came out perfect, looks great.
I also got the OEM Ford color code Carbonized Grey touch-up paint and it was slightly darker than the car's paint. In the real world, not very noticeable, but just a datapoint.
I would also like to see the other side to see what OP is talking about.
But I wonder about these things. Every screw hole is exposed in the threads. And if you ever replace a body panel (like the steel fenders on our S650s), they scratch and rub a little bit during fitment and getting screwed...
Saw someone post somewhere else they got a DH $12K under MSRP
I saw multiple reports of optioned out leftover GTs $10-12K under MSRP in the past year as well
Base base zero-option GTs $40-41K seems the floor
We should all aim for deep discounts, these cars should not go for anywhere close to MSRP
For the benefit of anyone who stumbles upon this thread in the future: there are 2 different issues described in this thread.
Most posters are referring to 'transmission output shaft flange' lacking lubrication, causing a driveline clunk at low speeds or shifting between Drive <> Reverse). My...
Thanks for this write-up. Any base model owners accomplished similar?
I've seen many of these tutorials, but none of them apply to base model Mustangs since we don't have a 5-pin adapter. Only a 3-pin adapter going to the rain sensor.
Interesting, looks like they designed yet a new fender liner for '26 compared to '25.
Early '25s didn't even have the hole patched.
Mid '25s and on had the hole area still, but covered over with another felt-textured piece (Ford was probably using up their supplies of the initial design fender...
