I noticed a different FORScan behavior on my new '26 Mustang and am wondering if other '26 owners notice the same thing: the BCM resets itself each time you pull it up in FORScan. This is even without making changes. The car will make the Ford chime sound (ba-dum-dum) and the max brightness...
So from what I can tell this completely does not use the white LEDs anymore at all? Looks like it functions as a car that doesn't even have white LEDs, just amber dim/bright for every function of the tri-beam DRL bar
Please don't pay >$100 for this. Takes probably 1 minute, it's literally typing a single digit. You could just offer one of the techs $20 to do it for you after work. Just find a younger looking tech, they'll know how to use computers.
At address IPC 720-02-01, change the 1st digit from 0 to 4...
Could you do this yourself? Would you lose your Ford engine warranty if you install it yourself? Seems like it would be hard to justify that under Magnusson Moss, especially since it's their product and not like you're able to tweak it to be your own custom tune.
Also, if Ford knows the engine...
We do have a rain sensor up there, the coin battery looking thing on the left side.
I never figured it out, but I believe it's possible because there are products on Amazon that tap into the rain sensor plug for USB and 12V out.
Hopefully just a simple fix. The A/C system seems to be a weak spot on these cars. I remember on S550s it was a common issue and many had to have A/C compressors replaced
I was extremely disappointed in the GT's weak low-end torque, and believe it or not, was partly why I switched back to an Ecoboost. Came from a Camaro LT1 with a push-rod engine with tons of low-end torque, could just floor it in any gear and instantly launch like a rocket due to the broad...
Sounds like the factory messed it up, like when the S650s were new. They were shipping cars with mismatched driver/passenger seats, and mismatched brakes on either side (an Ecoboost got a performance Brembo on one side only).
In my experience you can get better prices before the Employee Pricing promo (been tracking realistically achievable prices, and monitored prices last year this happened too).
This promo makes it easier for people who don't want to negotiate to get a decent deal across the board.
Downside is...
I installed a Dark Horse wheel on my base Ecoboost last weekend and it worked.
- I had previously done the IPC 720-02-01 change (to show "M" and gear number).
- My IPC 720-12-01 was already "E" (Ford updated the default setting I believe)
- After installing the wheel, I made the PCM 7E0-163-01...
I suspect something flawed with the design of the coolant system hose fittings or the overflow tank cap, because I've also had inexplicable decreasing coolant on both a new '24 Eco and a new '25 GT. Now have a new '25 Eco and can also smell coolant after pulling into the garage. Too early to...
Wish we had something like this for West Coasters.
Glacier National Park is awesome in the summer, if you aren't inundated by the crowds. Drove out there from California a few years ago in a rental V8. You might want to consider rentals to avoid the miles, rock chips, and abuse on your own car.
I think in non-performance-oriented cars, the paddle shifters will often work that way, as a "gear limiter" rather than manual control of the gear. At least in my old 2017 Camry it worked that way. Perhaps your F-150 does that too.
But in Mustangs it holds the specific gear you shift to (unless...
Dunno bout the X-pipe but I loved having a Roush axle-back on my '25 GT, another relatively affordable option if you want more sound.
And I owned a '21 Camaro LT1 with the active exhaust option, really miss it. You could make it do long chains of pops/bangs by downshifting >3K RPM, and prolong...
Barely visible hints of rust on the bottom of frame rails/pinch welds--should I even care?
Dealers lift these cars (during PDI?) on the frame rails in front of the official lift points. This is what I've deduced from 3 new S650s I purchased, all different dealers. One had a plastic rocker front...
Thanks. I also found the official Ford instructions on Page 11 of this PDF:

(will need Torx 15 and Torx 10 bits)
The DH steering wheel comes with adaptive cruise buttons, and my base model does not have this feature.
Can I use the DH steering wheel anyway, without swapping buttons and just let the adaptive cruise buttons remain non-functional?
Or will that cause issues, meaning I have to swap over my...
You can save a little time and complication by completely omitting the plastic fasteners.
Just the 7mm bolts alone are enough to hold the undertray securely.
Heard it again today. It's rare, maybe once in a week, so hard to show a dealer.
Only on low accel from a stop/pause, usually ~5 minutes after a cold start. Never happens on the cold start itself. Also never noticed it when driven for a long time, freeway, etc.
Sounds almost like rod knock but...
