You two have me beat save for age (84 here!). Having driven my well-tuned 2019 Ranger with the 10R80 for nearly 5 years, I wouldn't even think of getting a row-it-yourself tranny! Would I like to to have paddle shifters for my Eco-Boost? I said yes the first week or so, but once I figured out...
Apple doesn't require any software change. One thing I have noticed, however, an Apple iPhone doesn't always charge fully due to a bit of overheating. Take out the rubber pad and it doesn't do that, but the phone slides around, so I leave it in. No real issues.
This is odd. Whoever designed them should have used the same wiring scheme. I'd be complaining to the company that made or sold them!
As I think about this, some company should come up with custom after-market ones. Say to display a unique license plate, or perhaps a picture of a Whipple. Heck...
With all of the Ford guys who linger here, I would expect (ask?) one of them would (to) share the algorithm of how and when the valve is activated?
Then there is the rather complex engineering which goes into designing an exhaust system. It is more than just an oval or round-shaped thingy...
Having glass comprehensive coverage is an absolute necessity in my opinion. Some insurance companies do charge a bit more for factory glass, and it is worth it when there are cameras involved.
I guess no one wants to talk about 'why' he might want to test one directly? Few know, that Henry Ford II actually drove a disguised GM product for several weeks. Why did he do it? Or why do you think GM has a Mustang GT on their test track? Instead of thinking all things are apophenian, look at...
Regrets? I really don't have any. That said, there are somethings I wish Ford had addressed, and I might have rued them until I actually found out how to make the 'best' use of them. Here's an example.
I think the Premium versions should have come with paddle shifters. When I first got my 2019...
I was close to spending the $450 to get the sides and rear tinted. However, I got a chance to sit in a GT with tinting added before delivery to the end buyer. As a result, I'm sympathetic. Oh, and I'm saving the monies too!
In town and/or highway mileage figures are subjective at best, due to the large number of variables. Even the EPA figures aren't real-world! Things like auto vs. manual, air on/air off, mode settings, you name it. If your mileage is low, quit smashing the go pedal! If your mileage is good...
Actually the Eco-Boost Premium weighs almost 200 pounds less. What's more, almost every GT owner adds the PP, which adds yet another few pounds. Now you understand why an Eco-Boost has a real advantage in the twisties, even if you have the PP and the Eco-Boost doesn't.
I've never been a touchy-feely kind of car guy. Never had any vehicle in an awards type car show. I have hung out at a few local eatery-sponsored impromptu shine and shows, but little else. Nonetheless, if it was fairly clean in and out, I didn't care otherwise.
As we used to say in high...
Find a shop in your area that has a Hunter Elite balance. You pay more to get a race (fine) tune, but when all else fails...
The first place I'd look is the wheel the dealer worked on. I also agree with the torque of the nuts. One would assume an imbalance in torque couldn't cause a rotor to...
